Groaning as Aviva leaves me alone in this dump, I grab my book and folder for history. Taking my sweet time, I stare at my history folder, beginning to wondering if we had any homework. Until the bell rings, causing me to remember that I'm gonna be late. Wait I AM LATE! Oh my gosh, Ms Smith is gonna kill me! Running to the classroom, I slam the doors open. Slowly realizing I have embarrassed myself in front of everyone.
"Oh it's good to see you Liana. Why are you late? Couldn't decide whether to skip class or not?" Ms Smith glares at me.
"I'm sorry, my locker got jammed and when I opened it, everything spilled out. I couldn't just leave everything laying there." I lie.
There's this thing called acting and there's a fat chance I'm experienced.
"You should really get your locker checked by the janitor then. Now class, open to page 103." She snorts.
Walking towards my desk that's in the back of the classroom, as our teacher continues to blab about history. Karen smirks at me, then winks. Confused, I rip a piece of paper from my notebook and write a note, then pass it to her. After a couple of minutes of passing the notes back of forth, I reread the note.
Why did you make that face for?
You know why hehe (;
You're insane, have I told you that?
Aw thanks hon! So why are you in denial, we all know you like Tod.
I don't, ok? I can't respond to him, I don't want to give him false hope or hurt our friendship.
Tsk tsk, you're so innocent.
I'll rather stay innocent than ruin a friendship.
Wise words from a child :P Anyways, gotta stop passing notes, Ms Smith is gonna start noticing.
Shoving the piece of paper into my back pocket, I start pretending I'm actually listening to Ms Smith.
.
"Avi! How dare you leave me alone! You told me that you'll be back!" I groan through the phone.
"I'm sorry! I swear I won't do this again anytime this week."
"This week..." I roll my eyes.
"I can imagine you rolling your eyes right now."
"Creepy much?"
"I creep on you all the time haha! And sorry again, but I have to go. My mom is calling for me."
"Ok bye, talk to you later then."
Shoving my phone into my pocket, I shut my locker to see someone standing there.
"Hey Liana." Tod smiles.
"What are you doing here by my locker?"
"Well I never got to ask you my question at lunch..."
"Oh that reminds me! I have a question to ask you too!"
Ok that's a lie, but seriously, I don't want to get asked out by Tod. Don't get me wrong, he's a good friend, but that's the only way I see him as.
"You go first then."
"What are the pages for Algebra? I have to start doing my homework and raising my grades, Mr Clark is gonna call my parents if I don't."
"The pages are 98 to 102. If you need help, I can come over and help you."
"Thanks Tod! You're a great friend! I'm so glad that you're here to help!" I hug him and skip out the doors.
Skipping towards my parents car, I take a seat in the passenger seat.
"Hi dear, how was school?" my mother asks me.
"Well today was pizza day and school was kinda boring." I reply.
"You should really start eating healthy, eating nothing but pizza will make you gain weight." she sighs.
"Mom, I'm fine. I exercise every week." I laugh.
"You're never gonna get a smart handsome husband with that attitude." she roll her eyes.
"You do realize I get to choose who to marry? I don't need you controlling my life all the time."
"I think you and Tod are perfect for each other. He's smart, charming, and I know for sure will take good care of you." my mom ignores me.
"Ew, no. Tod isn't my type. He may seem perfect for you, but my feelings should count too." I groan.
"That's what kids always say."
As the car parks into our driveway, I run into the house, and into my room. Quickly changing into grey sweat pants and a large white t-shirt. Looking in the mirror, I take my brunette hair out of it's messy bun.
"YOU'RE FREE!!!" I shout, crashing into my comfy bed.
"Lia stop shouting and come get dinner!"
Rising from my bed, I walk to the kitchen and grab a Chinese box and chopsticks.
"Chinese tonight?" I laugh.
"Yeah, mom had rush to a meeting after she dropped you off." Zandra nodded.
Zandra always have been the favorite, she's smart, responsible, pretty, goes to online college, has a boyfriend, and everything my parents my asked for. My parents always compare me to her, but I'll never be like her.
"Oh and Issac is gonna be here in an hour." she continued.
"And you tell me why?"
"Just to let you know, so you don't freak out and stuff."
"Mmhmm ok." I roll my eyes, finishing up my Chinese food.
"Well I'm gonna clean the living room, any movies you want to watch with us?"
"Naa, I'm fine. I'll be in my room." I shake my head, throwing out my chopsticks and Chinese box out.
"Lazy bum." she laughs.
Walking into my room, I see my phone turning on and off like crazy. Grabbing it, I see Aviva calling me.
"Hi!"
"I waited for ten minutes and I called you like a hundred times!"
"Sureee."
"Oh and tell me what happened!"
"After you left school?"
"No duh!"
"Well, after you left, I was taking my sweet time, forgetting all about clas-"
"No the Tod thing!"
"Oh...he didn't get the chance to ask me, I changed the topic to math and homework. I thanked him for being a good friend for helping me."
"...."
"Are you still there?"
"Hahaha oh my gosh! I can't believe you just did that!"
"Did what?"
"You just friend zoned him!"
"Uh...?"
"You may have hurt his feeling without knowing..."
"Oh no!"
"Now you react."
"What do I do!?"
"That's your problem."
She hung up, leaving me wondering why I did that. I just hurt his feelings!
