I woke up with heavy eyes that I could barely open and feet that wouldn't get me out of this bed. Then I remembered today was my first day of school. Okay, it was my first day of school. It actually started a week ago, but I was too sad to go.
My dad died 2 weeks ago at the age of 50, from cancer. I loved him so much, I just couldn't go to school with my puffy red eyes and splotchy cheeks from crying. I dreamed of him the night before, so that explains why I woke up so sad.
That sadness didn't last for long though because I was just too excited to show off my new look. I had practically gotten a whole new wardrobe since summer started. I had gotten my first job at a local coffee shop, hence the money to get new clothes. This new style consisted of skirts, collared shirts, 1950s dresses, plus some pairs of high-waisted jeans. I picked my Cher Horowitz outfit.
As I slipped on my Mary Janes over my white stockings, I looked over to my vanity wondering I should put on some makeup. I decided to just put on a little blush, along with concealer to cover up my eye bags. I finished it off with a red-tinted lip gloss and grabbed my school bag. I then headed downstairs to make myself some breakfast. I quickly made a bagel along with a mocha. I wasn't much of a breakfast person, it was weird for me to even eat in the mornings. I checked the time, "7:10" it read.
"BYE!" I yelled to my siblings. I rushed out of my house with my bag, and hairbrush in my hands. I got in the car waiting for me in front of my house.
"Hey, sorry for the wait", I said to my friends as they drove through my neighbourhood. I can't wait to start high school.
Authors Note
So this is my first time writing a story, so correct me on any mistakes I have. And I will most likely be updating often.
