🥀 Mary 🥀
Mary was so focused on finishing her chapter that she didn't notice as her bestfriend Dianna sat on the chair across her in the coffee shop, and Dianna knew better than disturb her while reading, there was a lot of plot twists in this last few chapters that Mary was utterly in another world, she slid her bookmark and closed the book.Dianna already ordered two cups of hot chocolate for them, she smiled when she saw Mary so the latter grinned back.
-"You look rather nice today" said Mary noticing her friend's blue dress, it had a V- neck showing the sharp shoulder bones and the small lacy silver necklace with a butterfly pendant Dianna wore, the same one as hers, they gathered all their money years ago to have one each made specially for them. The blue dress had a loose belt just hanging under her breasts.
-"Oh, it's my aunt's gift after getting back from her Europe tour, it was a little bit oversized so I had to do a little changes here and there," replied Dianna looking at her dress and playing with the short sleeves.
-"It's so nice, anyway what are you doing this evening ?" asked Mary taking a sip from her cup.
-"We have a family dinner tonight so I gotta stay and clean the house with mom, what about you ?"
-"I think I'll stay home and finish my book." she said looking at her book above the table when she heard Dianna murmur under her breath "as usual".
-"Don't you dare say it," warned Mary as Dianna pressed her lips holding a smile.
-"I said nothing but don't you think you should go out more often I understand your obsession with books because you know I love them too but you have to live also in reality, you're so buried in books and always living in your fantasy world, c'mon girl you're almost 18".
-"My life is reading books ! That's all I'm good at beside jogging, people make me nervous and uncomfortable. I tried making more friends like you told me but they're super boring and unbearable, all they talk about is fashion, boys, gossip, sex and shit like these. Most of the girls these days are like this, I'm sorry if I'm being the different weirdo with my bookish obsession and glasses and clothes but that's just me, I'm not changing because some spoiled brats think I should do so or that I should be jealous of their pretty face and perfect ass because I don't" -Dianna actually laughed-"So please don't question me about this subject again, we already talked about it like hundreds of times before" She said feeling angry now, her face heated and she looked like a tomato.
-"Mary, relax I didn't mean that you should change I just said to have more time outside and-" Dianna's phone rang and she picked up and answered.
-"Hey mom, I'm with Mary in the coffee shop, I already told you that this morning, is it necessary ? I just arrived, fine fine I'm coming." she huffed and looked at her friend.-"Mom wants me to go with her shopping for school stuff, I have to go," she said gathering her things, Mary said forgetting that they just argued.
-"It's okay, I had to go with mom as well yesterday, we stayed the whole afternoon in the mall while my younger siblings had a fight over who really needed a new backpack.Dianna laughed and they stood and stormed out of the shop.
-".. so, see you on Monday, put on something cute, we'll talk later" She said as a farewell and left.
