"Are you ready?" Mark peered into the bathroom, finding Donghyuck ruffling his hair to make it look somewhat presentable.
"Stop being an impatient ass." he answered.
The older stepped in, grabbing his boyfriend by the shoulders to face him. Mark ran his fingers through the younger's honey locks, smoothing down the untamed strands.
"There." he finished, a satisfied smile playing on his lips.
"Thanks." Donghyuck mumbled, a little blush developing on his cheeks.
The two left Donghyuck's house, planning to meet up with their friends at the fair.
Shielding his eyes from the sun, the younger stepped out of the car and onto the dirt pavement, since there was no more room in the parking lot. He waited for Mark and the two walked down to the fair to meet up with the others.
"Everyone's here." Renjun clapped his hands together as they stood outside the entrance. "Onwards!" he pointed to the sky, leading the teens into the place of recreation.
Mark's eyes wandered around - the last time he was here he was with his brother. He could still recall the huge grin on the other's face when he pulled Mark along to go on almost every ride, and would buy cotton candy and ice cream for him.
"Gosh, how many times does your head get stuck in your ass in a span of five minutes?" the question snapped Mark out of his gaze.
"Mark, we lost them." Donghyuck informed the boy, shaking the older's shoulders.
"What? Already?" he turned his head in all directions and yup, there were no signs of their friends through the mob of people.
"I guess it's just the two of us." the younger shrugged.
On instinct, Mark immediately grabbed Donghyuck's hand, not wanting to lose him in the crowd. The boy led the other further away from the entrance area, where the amount of people started to die down.
As Mark walked more into the park, the more memories he was reminded of.
"So, what are we gonna do?" Donghyuck asked, pulling the boy out of his thoughts once again.
"Whatever you want." Mark answered, honestly not knowing what to say.
—
"I regret everything." Mark placed his hand on his temple, dizziness plaguing his vision as he walked in a crooked line. Donghyuck held onto his shoulder for support, his head spinning as well.
"It was your idea to go on that damn thing. It was spinning so fast I was losing my mind." the younger managed to say back. "That's the fourth time we almost vomited today."
After stopping by a nearby bench to recollect themselves, the two boys strolled around, the sky starting to turn into a dark blue color, pinkish hues reflecting off the rides. They've been at the fair all day, they caught sight of their friends here and there, but they would run away and scream something along the lines of 'enjoy your date' when both boys tried to approach them.
The teens ended up in front of one of those mini game stands scattered across the fair.
"You suck at this." Donghyuck shook his head when Mark missed his shot at the first rubber duck.
The older gritted his teeth, furrowing his eyebrows when he shot again, which resulted in another miss.
Fed up with this already, Donghyuck ripped the plastic gun from the other's hands and with one clean shot, the grand rubber duck in the center toppled backwards.
Mark's eyes widen, mouth agaped at his boyfriend's lucky shot.
"You're welcome dumbass." he said.
The older squealed when he was handed a huge ass teddy bear as a prize.
Eyeing the gigantic fluffy thing Mark was carrying on his shoulders, Donghyuck let out an audible sigh. "You're seriously four, I swear."
"Hey, who's the one who ate three bags of cotton candy?"
"What does my fatass have to do with this conversation?"
Their pointless banter continued until they arrived at the ferris wheel. The boys and the teddy bear piled into a cart, the wheel slowly rising, giving them a neat view of the sunset that engulfed the whole fair.
"I had fun today." Donghyuck spoke, gazing out the glass.
"I did too." Mark agreed, eyes skimming over the amusements becoming smaller as they went up.
"Wasn't this technically a date?" the younger asked, turning towards the other.
The older's lips parted, realizing it was basically their first official date. They didn't intend it to be, they came with their friends after all.
"I guess." he shrugged in response, a small smile on his lips.
When the males got off the ferris wheel, the sky was already almost engulfed in full darkness, the colorful lights from the rides illuminating their walking path.
Mark placed the teddy bear on an empty bench and sat down next to it. "There's gonna be fireworks soon." he told the other male. "From here we'll get a decent view."
"Okay." Donghyuck replied, settling next to the him.
Merely a few seconds later, a colored streak shot up into the sky, erupting into a beautiful pattern of vibrant shades.
Mark's eyes wandered over the colorful sky - his brother loved fireworks. He remembered the way his eyes lit up as they painted the dark sky, when he pointed to some of them to show his younger brother.
He felt fingers entwine with his and he turned to the side, seeing Donghyuck intently staring up at the sky, the hues reflecting off his dark eyes.
The older smiled, finding ease in his boyfriend's peaceful look. He tightened their grip, scooting closer to Donghyuck. He leaned his head onto the younger's shoulder, sniffing in his sweet scent, and enjoyed the sight of the fireworks.
—
"I need to go to the bathroom." Mark said, bringing the teddy bear down from his shoulders and shoving it into Donghyuck's hands.
The fair was near closing time, the amount of people had significantly lowered in the past few minutes.
Before the younger could protest, Mark was already making his way to the local restroom. Until he felt fingers wrap around his wrist, the teen immediately halting, breath hitching at the grip.
"Mark,"
He quickly turned his head, recognizing that voice. His eyes landed on a thin, lean male, his golden hair swiped across his forehead and a soft expression on his face.
The boy blinked, mouth falling open in denial.
"Taeyong?"
