Appearance: Fuyuko appears to be the youngest of the entire Danganronpa cast. She has mismatched colored eyes due to being born with heterochromia, her right appearing crimson red and her left a dull, sky blue. Her hair is long and black that is usually left down. Her bangs normally fall over her right eye to hide her condition.

Her outfit is based on gothic Harajuku street fashion. She wears a black velvet cloak lined with lace trimming, the hood usually covering the upper half of her face. She is also seen wearing a mysterious navy blue school uniform tied with a black ribbon underneath the cloak. Under her skirt are two leather straps that hold two daggers. The emblem of her previous school (which was left unnamed) is pinned on the outside of her cloak. She wears black, heeled, knee high combat boots over tall, black socks with her left sock being black and white striped. She is also seen wearing a black choker with a pentagram. There are tally marks on both of her arms, one representing the days she's gone without harming herself, and the other the days she's gone without attempting suicide.

Personality: Fuyuko has known to be mysterious and secretive. She is quiet, but is known to speak up if necessary, such as during an investigation or trial. She becomes especially talkative if everyone else is not able to advance the trial further, as she almost always presents a missing link in evidence that others missed, or a new piece of evidence. It's unclear how she is capable of this, but no one else questions it. It is known that she is unintentionally wise, frequently making quotes that help the others push through despair, though she doesn't care for neither hope nor despair and only wants the truth.

She seems to have a thing for isolation, though it is unclear if she really wants this. She is also mentioned to be suicidal and depressed, having been diagnosed before entering the game. She seems to only help the others out of pity, saying she does not want them feeling the despair that has always lurked inside her. Because of this, she also refuses to have friends or close relationships, frequently pushing others away. The only person she seems to care about is Mondo Owada, whom of which she is currently dating. Makoto Naegi claims she might be the only one able to commit a murder and get away with it, but she never does so and it's unclear if she tries to do so after the game.

Backstory: Growing up, Hitori lost her mother in a freak accident. Due to the authorities not taking action, Hitori picked up Criminology. It was a way to avenge her mother. Her father was always involved in other "work" and that gave Hitori the chance she needed to sneak out and do research. She would usually go to the source of the criminal activity and get mixed up in a lot of trouble, explaining how she is able to defeat foes much stronger than her, despite being so frail. Her studies helped though, and she soon earned the title of Ultimate Criminologist and got an invitation to Hope's Peak.

-The name "Fuyuko" means "winter child". Her surname means "lonely".
-She loves to write fantasy stories.
-She happens to sing- a lot.
-If she doesn't trust you, she will never take off her hood in front of you.

Uncanon information:
-It's in debate whether or not she should also have a transformable halberd. It would be able to go from a silver box to a halberd and back. She was supposed to have it originally, but now wields it uncanonically. It's unknown whether or not it'll become canon in the future.
-She wasn't originally supposed to be shipped with Rantaro or other OCs. She was originally going to end up with either Gundham Tanaka or Mondo Owada.
