The Dark Rebellion

Chapter 3

As they creeped around the small town, Kaia couldn't help but notice the so many different things that were outside the palace. The town looked run down and creepy at night. She couldn't believe people actually lived here.

As they walked, Kaia wasnt paying much attention and tripped. She fell into a box and made a big thunk noise as she hit her head onto it and yelped. Sage quickly turned around and groaned in annoyance. "Why are you so loud!" She whisper yelled at her as she held her hand out for the blonde. She took it and shakily stood up. Sage looked at her and sighed. Kaia felt something wet and sticky run down her face. She put her hand to it and whiped some of it off, then looked at the red liquid that shone on her finger in the moonlight. Her eyes widened a bit.

"B--Blood?" She gulped, I don't think I've ever got a cut and bled in a long time. Maybe I scrapped my knee when I was a kid but the servants were always there to help me instantly. Sage rolled her eyes.

"Yes, blood. Its that substance thats in your body and comes out when you open your body up." Kaia gave her a look of hate, I knew what blood was! She chuckled and reached into her pack of stolen goods. She grabbed a cloth and dabbed the blood off of Kaia's head. "C'mon, lets find a place to stay." She started walking again.

"A place to stay? Here?" Kaia questioned. She kept walking and answered.

"Yeah, I know a guy who could let us stay in his Inn," She replied as she swung around a street lamp and then continued walking.

They soon made it to this 'Inn'. Sage led her inside and started talking to this guy. After a couple minutes of talking he pointed to stairs and nodded. Sage motioned Kaia to follow her and they went up the stairs. The duo went down a hallway of doors until they stopped in front of one with the number sixteen on the door. Sage took out a key and unlocked the door, Kaia followed her inside. It was a small room with a bathroom, a counter, and two beds. Sage set her bag down on the far right bed and Kaia took the other.

Kaia patted the bed a bit, it wasn't like her royal bed at home and was pretty hard. But it will do, she was exhausted. "Hey, get some sleep. You'll need it for tomorrow." Sage told Kaia, she nodded and turned around to look at her...

She was in the middle of changing into a tank top, and Kaia could see a couple scars across her stomach. She saw her turn to look at her and turned. "Don't look at me!" She exclaimed. She quickly looked away, blushing. Kaia said sorry quickly and shifted in embarrassment. Was it just her or did she blush to?After she was done changing she turned back around. Her black hair spilled down her shoulders and she glanced back at Kaia with her sharp orange eyes.

She gulped and decided to ask. "So those scars...do you get them in battles or something?" She sighed and sat down on her bed. She scratched the back of her neck and looked out the window.

"Yeah, I fight a lot of people." Kaia nodded. She remembered her saying her father drives out the mythical animals. If so, what was she?

"Sage...If you don't mind me asking. What are you?" She glanced back at her and her face got an evil glint. She chuckled.

"Well, my father is a king of a distant land. Its like your dad hates creatures, and my dads the one that harbors them. When I told you that you have that generation power, I have it on my side to. Except...yours is more angelic. Mine is more demonic." She explained. Kaia nodded, I get it now.

She yawned loudly and Sage chuckled. Once again she demanded Kaia sleep and she got under the covers and fell asleep almost instantly. Sage sighed and looked at the sleeping form of Kaia. "Such an innocent princess." She snickered. But she was starting to get a soft spot for the girl.
