She declined the call, stuffing her phone in her back pocket. After tonight, she wanted nothing to do with him. Maybe not seeing him for a while would be the best thing for her. Maybe all she needed was some quality time with her unnies to make her feel better.
She told herself all these things and yet they weren't seeming to make her feel better than she already did.
Her pace was slowing down, and she could feel her eyes droop. Maybe she needed a nap as well.
Who knew your crush breaking your heart right before your eyes would be so tiring.
It was like time flashed before her eyes, and before Lalisa realized, she was pushing her way into the cramped apartment, slamming the door shut behind her. She tossed her bag on the small kitchen island and dropped her shoes somewhere on her way to the couch.
When her body finally relaxed into the couch, it was like she could suddenly feel everything. Who knew constantly being busy could take such a toll out on a person.
But as quickly as that feeling came, it left. Lisa could hear her roommates' footsteps nearing her, and before she could blink, Kim Jennie was kneeling on the floor in front of her, a small pout visible on her lips.
Lisa turned her head to look at the brunette in front of her. "I saw him kiss another girl, unnie. I thought my feelings were clear, but I guess not," she said softly, slowly sitting up until she sat criss-crossed in front of the older.
"Was I not good enough?" Lisa mumbled to herself, playing with a loose strand of orange hair that dangled in front of her eyes.
After all, Lisa was the type of girl to compare herself to others. It was hard being a woman and not doing that, especially when something as so small as your gender could determine your destiny.
Jennie was quick to take action, jumping on the couch next to Lisa and wrapping her arms around the younger. Jennie wished she could take away all of the orange-haired girls sadness and keep it for herself. She hated it when her friends were sad, and if she was going to live with this girl for three more years, she might as well teach her now that sadness can be dealt with easily. Especially if you have the wonderful Kim Jennie as your roommate.
"Listen, Lalisa. You are one of the most extraordinary people I have ever met. You're a wonderful dancer, singer, and rapper! And on top of that you can bake, and you have a beautiful smile that matches your pretty face. If he can't see that, than he doesn't deserve you!" Jennie ranted, ending her speech with a lovely kissy face directed at the redhead.
Lisa looked down at her hands, trying to hide the smile on her face. Maybe Jeongguk was missing out on being her boyfriend. And if that's the case, then she'd just have to show him what he was missing.
"That's the spirit! Now come on, let's go get your face washed up. You look like a washed-up orca whale." Jen added, grabbing Lisa's hand and pulling her off the couch.
As Lisa watched her roommate walk into kitchen, she couldn't help but wonder if she deserved Jennie. If she deserved anyone to always be there for her. Because as far as being friends goes, it seems that the redhead always seems to mess something up.
But as she heard the water start to pour from the faucet, her negative thoughts seemed to disappear, and all she could think about was returning her pale face back to its original color.
"Lisa, yah! Are you just gonna stand there or come over here?"
