Guk walked swiftly down the road, relying on nothing but his iPhone's flashlight to illuminate his path. He could feel the cold air nipping at his skin, but he didn't care. All he wanted was to get home safely.
He wanted to get these thoughts out of his head. Ever since the day he heard Lalisa say his name, he couldn't stop thinking about her. Lisa's smile. Lisa's orange hair. Lisa's perfect smile. Lisa's dance moves. Lisa's kind words. Even Lisa's perfectly aesthetic bedroom.
He couldn't look, hear, smell, or touch anything without thinking that someway or somehow it related to her. And he was sick of it.
Suddenly, he spotted his hyung through the window of a twenty-four-hour diner across the street. It was Kim Seokjin, and he was sitting next to one of Lisa's friends that he'd noticed from his modern arts class. Kim Jisoo he thought her name was.
Without batting an eyelash, Jeongguk sprinted across the intersection, only to realize there was no need to run anyways. There was nobody on the streets other the less fortunate, and the stray students wandering back to their dorms at this ungodly hour.
He pushed open the faded red doors and rolled his eyes as he heard the little chime of the welcoming bell hung above the door.
He whipped around and was embarrassed to see that Jin and Jisoo had already put their forks down, their eyes fixated on Guk. He awkwardly laughed and walked over to their booth in the corner, awkwardly taking a seat across from the two of them.
"Hey guys!" Guk said, trying his best to be enthusiastic even though he still couldn't manage to get Lisa off of his mind.
Jisoo and Seokjin gave each other the side eye. It was like they were speaking to each other using only eye contact.
Jin was first to return his attention to Jeongguk. "What's got you troubled, kiddo?" He asked the younger jokingly, as Jisoo quietly chuckled in the corner.
Guk sighed, softly putting his hands on the table. "It's about a girl." he replied quietly.
The couple across from him eyed each other again, a mischievous grin on Jisoo's face. It was like she knew what Guk was thinking before the words even rolled off his tongue.
Jisoo slammed her hands on the table, a little more aggressively than she meant it to be. But the silly grin was still plastered on her face from the moment before. "It's about Lalisa! She tells me everything, you know. Even when you awkwardly run out of her apartment." She said firmly, purposely saying the last part a little bit quieter.
Jin nodded as he watched Jisoo speak. His eyes were full of adoration. And Jeongguk couldn't help but wonder if that's how he looked at Lalisa.
"It's impossible for me to like her! We've only known each other for three weeks!" He responded harshly.
The couple in front of him looked visibly uncomfortable. Seokjin quietly handed Jisoo the keys. She slid out from the booth and calmly walked back to the car.
Guk knew he was about to be scolded just by the look in Jin's eyes.
"Listen, Jeongguk. I know you haven't experienced love yet, so I wouldn't even expect you to know what it feels like. But when you know, you know. And that's all I'm going to say about the issue." Seokjin said before he too slid out from the booth.
He pulled his coat on and began to walk back to his car that currently had a bored Jisoo sitting in the passenger seat.
"Treat your olders nicely, and treat Lalisa even better." Jin added, placing some cash on the table.
When Jeongguk heard the little bell of the door chime, he knew he was left all alone again. With nothing but his thoughts.
Was it possible that he could have feelings for Lisa?
