Hoseok's place was rather simple for such a well-endowed person, the epitome of a college student's apartment. Simple curtains in translucent cream draped gently over a duo of windows facing the street below, a view easily accessible from the modest kitchen. Hoseok had two beds, but unfortunately they were in the same room- Yoongi hoped Hoseok didn't do anything weird in his sleep or stay up too late. The bedroom was connected to a white-tiled bathroom, which looked as if it had been meticulously cleaned before he had arrived.

"So," Hoseok ventured, plopping down on the neutral-toned loveseat. "Any questions? Things you want to do?"

Yoongi shook his head and sat down on a chair across the small room. "I should probably start job searching," he murmured, pulling his phone out of his pocket. "Shit." Dismay flitted across his face as he turned it on. "It's dead, and my parents kicked me out before I could grab my charger."

He didn't even have a goddamn smartphone charger to his name.

That was probably when it all crashed down upon him; the realization that he was near-broke, estranged, and possibly trapped in a perpetual loop of virtual homelessness. It soaked him, the sudden onslaught of pure hopelessness that shattered over his head like heavy glass.

"Shit," he whispered. "I'm gonna have to rely on you for a lot of things now, aren't I?"

Hoseok shrugged. "Maybe for a little while, but once you find a job you'll pay me back. We had it all figured out, remember? Besides, I promise I don't bite." His smile was genuine, a pleasant arrangement of pearly teeth into a symbol, a promise- Yoongi couldn't help but return it, despite the chaotic feeling of despair that churned his insides.

"Hey, I'll let you use my laptop, if you want to. Y'know, to look for a job." Hoseok dipped his head towards the silver computer charging on top of the marble counter, already raising himself out of his seat. Yoongi watched him move, surprised by how fluid his body was even when he was simply walking—it was as if he was made of quicksilver, every movement flowy and dynamic; ink blooming into water. He shook his head—what was he thinking?

"Ah—thanks," Yoongi managed, still feeling as though he didn't deserve half the things that Hoseok was offering—sure, they were welcome, but he still felt a bit... cheap, honestly. Pitiful. "You don't have to... I could buy a charger and use my phone-"

And then Hoseok's hand was on his own, and he suddenly had forgotten how to breathe; he blamed it on surprise.

"Yoongi... I want you to use my laptop to find a job. Please." The younger boy's eyes were hard against his own, irises like smooth toffee a pleasing compliment to his caramel skin.

"O-okay," Yoongi stuttered, face pink as he gingerly slid his hand out from under Hoseok's grasp. The redhead must have noticed his discomfort—he flashed him an apologetic smile, straightening his back so he was standing at his full height.

"Sorry. I probably shouldn't have touched you," he threaded the fingers of his opposite hand through those of the offending appendage, looking sheepish. "I'll go get my laptop..." Yoongi nodded, exhaling a lungful of air he hadn't noticed he was holding.

Yoongi lay splayed across foreign sheets, his feet criss-crossed lazily over the wooden headboard as he surfed through job offers. His toes traced grains in the cheap ash of the tan bedposts, hand situated boredly under his chin. Starbucks, Mcdonald's, Starbucks, Mcdonald's... he really wasn't the type of person who would be remotely interested in working in the fast food industry.

"You found anything yet?" Hoseok called. He was in the next room over, working on schoolwork. Apparently, his college offered year-round courses—it was up to the student whether he or she wanted to take them or not. Many did, as such courses offered extra credit, and it was a surefire way to relieve oneself of the constant buzz of creativity and new ideas Hoseok described as ubiquitous within his mind.
