Yoongi's hair was blowing into his face uncontrollably, his body was slick with sweat from the stifling heat, and he swore if he spent another second with the damn windows rolled down his skin was going to peel off. Really, it was that bright outside.
"Still dealing with the bullshit," He muttered to himself, flinging a strand of obsidian hair from his eyes in exasperation. Taehyung was a stark contrast beside him, basking in the golden light of the sun with a boxy smile plastered to his face.
"What're you talking about? This feels great!" The younger boy exclaimed, a single hand gripping the wheel precariously as he stretched the other out the open window. He barely managed to pull it back in before another car roared past- Yoongi, in his bought of spite, half-wished the car had managed to strike it. Maybe then, if they didn't have to go to the hospital beforehand, Taehyung would roll up the freaking windows and turn on the AC like any sane human being.
Yoongi really hated everything.
"How long until we get there?" He whined, folding his hands against his sweat-stained chest. A lock of hair blew across his damp forehead, and he barely managed to suck in a lungful of air instead of screaming.
Taehyung chuckled. "You sound like my five-year-old cousin. Guess that means I can't call you grandpa anymore." Yoongi rolled his eyes and groaned- Taehyung had made a point of addressing him as "grandpa" every time he did so much as complain about something- and honestly, it always drove him insane. "Anyways, we have about thirty minutes left, I think." The road flew by as Taehyung's car clambered down the road, blurring into a never-ending streak of green and gold and the occasional flash of gray. The sky above them might have been considered beautiful- a rich, heavy azure in color- had it not been for the goddamn sun. Yoongi sighed, peeling himself away from the back of the seat with a wince- his skin was practically fused to its insufferably hot leather covering.

When at last the sparsely populated road folded into quaint suburbs, and suburbs into city, Yoongi breathed a sigh of relief- although wind-whipped and sunburned, he would once again be able to experience the godly sensation of air conditioning- for which his love had been kindled anew. Excitement pulsed through his tired veins as he thought of the other thing he was anticipating- reuniting with Hoseok, after what seemed like forever.
They slowed to a stop in front of a towering apartment complex, a building that spiraled into the blue sky for what seemed like infinity. Yoongi craned his neck, mouth agape in wonder- until Taehyung tugged gently at his sleeve.
"We're gonna meet him at the coffee shop down the street, remember?" Yoongi bobbed his head, tearing his gaze away from the apartment building to admire the rest of the street. Sunlight glinted off of meticulously-scrubbed glass, dappled the fluttering leaves of spindly trees, invaded shadowed street corners with glowing fingers of luminescence. Although Gwangju was hot, it was also beautiful, and despite the uncomfortable dampness of his milky skin he found himself slowing down to admire it all.
"Yoongi, you look like you're going to melt," Taehyung chided, pulling him along as if he were a lost child. Which, Yoongi thought bitterly, in some ways he was. "Let's hurry up." A whispering gust of wind stirred Taehyung's tawny head of hair into an auburn storm about his face, which he smoothed down with a bubbly laugh. "I can kinda understand why you were complaining in the car now, grandpa," He smirked, and Yoongi half-wished that he wasn't so damn two-faced- one minute he was forcing himself on him, the next acting as if nothing had happened between them- it made Yoongi feel like he couldn't trust anyone.
He hadn't really trusted anyone in a long time.
The cafe they stumbled into was the definition of elegant, what with its grandiose storefront and lacy decor. It sat on the corner of the street, windows lavish and crystalline. Yoongi got the feeling the cheapest thing there would cost infinitely more than anything at a regular establishment.
