———Gregory's P.O.V———
I can feel myself glaring as I walk down the hall towards the drama room, and the reason why was because my parents had signed me up to audition for this years production of "All Hail The Queen" by Quinn McGreggory.  It was a play that the Freshman did every year for the middle schoolers to watch and now I would have to be apart of it, oh joy.  When I make it to the door I meet someone there, a girl with long brunette hair and violet eyes, she must be wearing contacts.  Doing a look over I noticed she was wearing Combat boots much like myself as well as ripped denims and a grey flannel while I wore black skinny jeans and a red hoodie.
She notices me staring and sticks her hand out before saying, "Hi, I'm Veronica Smith.  Who are you?"  Her voice rings with authority, she sounded familiar.

Still not taking her hand I reply, "Laufey, Gregory Laufey."  She nods at me and opens up the door.

As soon as I open to door I am immediately covered in, wait, what am I covered in?  I open my eyes to see that I'm covered in pink glitter, well this is fan-freaking-tastic!  I look over to see that Gregory had gotten away clean, lucky.
"Oh my Amos I am so sorry Veronica!"  I look to the right and see the red haired head-cheerleader Misty Ryder with a panicked look on her face, "I swear that was meant for someone else!  You know that I would never purposely prank a fellow cheerleader!"

"Wait," I turn back to see Gregory
looking shocked, "You're a cheerleader?"  I'm about to answer when Misty cuts me off.

"Well duh, she's our flyer!  And the person that comes up with the cheers, whatever that's called."  Misty's lucky that she's got her looks.

"Hold up," I stick my hands up, "Who was that prank meant for and why?"

"It was meant for Caroline Michelson because she dumped itching powder down Mikayla Hart's new dress."  Came a voice from out of no where.

"Who said that?"  Gregory said, speaking my thoughts.

"That would be me," said a petite girl coming out from behind the clothing rack holding a clipboard, "Eleanor Lincoln.  You guys must be Veronica  Smith and Gregory Laufey."  The girl's hair was a short curly blonde bob and she had a quite a few freckles covering her face. She was wearing a pair of dark blue overalls with a long sleeved black and white striped shirt accompanied by a pair of brown hiking boots, all of which were covered in paints stains.

"Oh and don't worry," I say, "Mr. Hastings says that everyone will have a part in the production even if they don't get a role in the play."  I see Gregory snap his fingers while looking frustrated.

I look back towards Veronica and realize that she needs a change of clothes, "Veronica could you please follow me?  We need to get you a change of clothes."  She shrugs and follows without complaint.

~~~~~~Time Skip~~~~~~
An hour later Veronica is on stage reciting the lines for Queen Marigold's part in a floral blouse and a pair of jeggings that we had leftover from a different performance.  Her hair is up in a bun to hide the fact that there was still glitter in it.  Gregory is learning about the different tech terms and all about what he would have to do while working with the lights.  I myself am helping paint the forests for the scene where Queen Marigold poisons King Fern.
~~~~~Two Weeks Later~~~~~
I rush to where the casting call is and find that I actually got the Queen's role, this is a miracle!  I'm so excited I could do a midair split!  I rush over to where I was sitting with Gregory and Eleanor, somewhere in the last two weeks we had gotten pretty close, we had even gone to Eleanor's parents cottage in Widow's Park just to hang out.  We may or may not have also tagged a few rocks while we were out there, Eleanor's being the most noticeable as a hot pink heart with an arrow through it as a trail marker so we wouldn't get lost.

As soon as I sit down Eleanor looks me in the eye with a knowing look, "So, did you get the lead?"  I nod vigorously still grinning like the Cheshire Cat.

Gregory punches my arm, "Congrats."

"So we'll probably have to start doing measurements right away once school is over meaning that now is the perfect time for you to pick between the embroidery, silver or gold?"  What?

"Um, Eleanor, measurements for
what?"

"For your costume, duh.  Now, silver or gold?"

"I don't know, what's the color of the dress?"

"Purple, same color as your eyes."

"Eleanor, you didn't even know I was going to chosen for the part of Queen Marigold, so how'd you know to make the dress purple?"

"Just a feeling."  I shrugged and went along with it, I could tell that this was the beginning of a wonderful friendship.
