Ally: The girl that everyone wants. The girl every boy wants to take home to their parents or bedroom. But little do they know what goes through her head every time one of their hands wanders just a little too low. Or that she just might have feelings for the one person everyone hates. Can she start believing in herself and show people that she isn't everything they think she is?
Austen: The misunderstood guy who only wants to make those he cares about proud. He does everything, but nothing ever seems to work. Everything he does seems to be wrong. Can he figure out who he really is and show people he's everything everyone thought he wasn't?
Jamie: The girl that felt that she didn't belong anywhere. She's invisible, a nobody. Eyes went over her at parties, no teachers called on her in class because not even they noticed her. Can she make her voice finally heard through the pages of her diary?
These three couldn't have been more different, that is until they all had an unfortuate mishap that brought them all into one room.
It started one afternoon at school when the football team at their school did what seemed like a harmless prank. They went into the courtyard of the school and started throwing balloons full of paint at people. Austen was one of the Jocks that threw the balloons.
Amie was pushed in front of the boy that started kissing her to protect him from the attack. SHe was pelted with at least three different colors and five differentt balloons. Jamie was the main target, not intentionally, but once she was hit, they just went after her to hear her screams.
All of this landed the three of them in the counselor's office after all of the team but Austen ran away.
The counselor gave them an assignment as punishment. She could see the conflicting emotions in each of them. She gave them each a composition notebook. Then she told them four simple rules:
1) Stay true. Let your thought flow freely when you write.
2) Don't be afraid. And when you are, write it out. It will help you.
3) This book is the only thing you can talk to about EVERYTHING so use that to your advantage. Write down EVERYTHING. And I mean everything.
4) Every night. There must be a entry every night until I say to stop. This will be your release.
These are the four rules.
This is their punishment.
These are their thoughts.
They are the lost.
These are the Thoughts of the Lost.
