Alex's POV:

The ride on the subway back to the main part of New York was quiet. I think everyone was stunned by what happened. I know I was. I mean I knew my sister was brave and everything, but she didn't have to go to extremes back there. Or at least that's what it looked like, because she never told us what REALLY happened. She never does. She just keeps to herself all of the time, until she has to be the leader. It's like she's a ghost at times, just waiting for action to happen, and when it does, she's on top of it. But what I don't understand, is why? I thought I was suppose to be the leader. The one who does anything to help protect their little family. Well, I hope that's going to change soon because I'm bored out of my mind and I need some challenge in my life.

I scanned the area, not really sure why, I guess it's a habit, but I didn't see anything suspicious. I decided everything was fine, afteral, all of the Crawlers are dead. Slowly, my head rested against Leo's shoulder, cuddling up next to him, my thoughts vanished. He makes me calm and I don't know where I would be without him. I kissed his forehead, happy to be in his arms.

He looks down at me and smiles. "I love you so much. We'll get through this together. I won't ever leave your side again. I promise." he says, holding out his pinky as if he was going to pinky swear. Sure enough, he did. Then he kissed me and told me to go to sleep. I agreed with him and slowly closed my eyes, realizing how tired I was, and fell in a deep sleep, curled up next to him.

I woke up with a start. My heart racing a million times, sweat dripping down my face, and a small flicker of fire penetrated under the covers. It was me. I was creating that fire. It was the way I was feeling that made me create fire, heat. It was my raging feeling towards those Crawlers. It was them. They were back, but it wasn't really them. They were different, in a different form. I needed to tell someone. Get this freak of nature out of my head, but as I looked around the room, hearing their quiet heartbeats, their bodies all curled up in blankets, they were all fast asleep. There was no use waking them up. I guess I just needed to wait till the morning to tell them. But I don't know if I could wait that long...... or contain my thoughts and feelings.

I was in a dream, but it didn't feel like a dream. It felt real, like I was looking into the future or something. The Crawlers didn't look like their typical type. They didn't have their flesh gone, their bones weren't dry and breaking in different spots. Their ribs didn't protrude in many different directions, as if something was ripped from their grasp. Their face wasn't even bad looking. It was a regular humans face. They had eyes, real ones, a nose and mouth and everything. Although, their teeth were different. They had canine teeth, like vampires do, and I'm guessing that's how they attack their prey, but it was more than just the regular two.

In my dream, this more advanced Crawler, a Charmer, was faced with a human being. It was like a regular day where two people just talk. Or at least that's what it looked like until it attacked. When it attacked, it looked exactly like the Original Crawler. My guess is that's the way they "charm" their prey. They look and act as a human, but when they attack, they morph into their Crawler form. As the dream went on, I could see a big gang of Charmers, and it looked like they were trying to take over the world. That's exactly what they were doing. I could see humans walking the earth, then morphing and atracking, changing the humans into them. They weren't going to stop until they accomplished their mission, and that was to take over the world.... again.
