Me and Toby walked down to Lucky Leons Cupcakes hand in hand, I hadn't had a text from A in 3 months and was starting to think it was all over. Aria thinks it would end this easily after how long it'd been happening for. Emily and Hanna are just enjoying this freedom while it lasts but I really think it's finally all over.
We reached Lucky Leons and as we looking inside I noticed it was completely empty, nobody sitting inside, nobody outside. Usually families would sit here and enjoy cupcakes for a nice family day out. My family never did, even when I was little, me and Melissa were always pushed to be the best. Growing up in the Hastings house wasn't exactly easy, let's just say that.
Me and Toby walked in, we knew it wasn't closed because the lights were on and there was somebody behind the counter.
"Where is everyone?" Toby asked the woman behind the counter.
"Not sure, but there's this new cupcake store in Philly that everybody seems to be going to." She replied.
Toby just shrugged and ordered us cupcakes, after she gave them to us we sat at a table close to the window.
"I love this place, but we should try the place in Philly see if it's any good." Toby said as we sat down.
"Yeah sure, whenever." I murmured.
"What's wrong Spence?"
"Nothing, just recently I've been think about the future."
"So have I..."
"I live in fear of when, or if, A might return. I can't think long term until I know for definate that they're gone."
"Spencer I'm not going to force you into anything. You and me have both been on the A team at one point. If they were going to start it all again, I doubt they'd target us."
"I just worry"
We sat in silence for a while, Toby's amazing and I think as long as I'm with him I'll feel safe.
We went back to my house after, I sat on the sofa and Toby sat next to me.
"Toby, I've been thinking about what we said in Lucky Leons and I'm ready for any commitment you want, as long as I'm with you I'll feel safe" I smiled at him.
"Spencer you're amazing... I love you so much." He leaned in and kissed me. Even now I get an amazing feeling everytime we kiss, like we're in our own world and nobody can interrupt us. As he leaned away I stood up,
"I'm just going to get a shower." I told him.
"Ok, I'll talk to you tomorrow." He stood up and started towards the door.
"You can stay if you want, Melissa's staying in her apartment in Philadelphia and my parents are out of town."
"Any other day I would but I'm meeting Caleb tonight." He explained.
"I didn't know you guys were friends?"
"We weren't, but we figured you and Hanna are so close we might as well."
"You meeting Ezra too then?" I asked.
"No, I find it weird meeting with Ezra, I mean, with him being my teacher once and everything." He laughed.
"Fair enough, I used to find it weird to see Ezra, but after this long I got used to it. I was just wondering though, I wasn't saying you had to."
"I'm meeting Caleb in 5 minutes so I better get going. Bye Spencer."
"Bye Toby."
He walked outside and closed the door behind him, I smiled to myself for a while, afterwards I remembered an essay I needed to write so I went up the stairs, so I would have enough time to have a shower and start the essay.
