I stopped dead in my tracks when I noticed a girl walking our direction.
She had an all too similar limp to mine, and a far different contraption strapped to her leg.
She had an attractively determined frown on her face, but a couple laugh lines that offset it.
"Like twins."
I said quietly when she neared us.
She sized me up upon coming within a few feet of us.
"Guess I'm not the only cripple around."
She said, cracking a sarcastic smile.
"Clarke told me you helped her escape, thanks for that. She's too important to die in that mountain."
My attitude towards her immediately changed.
"And the hundreds of my people in that mountain aren't important?"
I asked sharply.
"I didn't mean it like that."
She responded softly, her eyes meeting mine in a new way.
That doused the fire in my chest a little bit.
I bit my lip, and as I opened my mouth to say something the walkie on Jackson's belt crackled with static.
"Jackson, would you please bring the prisoner to the front entrance?"
It was the voice of the woman who had been with Clarke before.
"Guess I'll see you, I'm Raven by the way."
The girl told me.
Raven.
That name stuck in my mind like glue.
"Hestia."
I responded, before following Jackson to wherever the front entrance was.
The pain in my leg had doubled by the time we reached the large gate. But it was still bearable.
Clarke stood with the woman, who my clear mind immediately identified as her mother. The two held themselves with the same stubborness, strength.
"Clarke."
I greeted the blonde. I started to ask her where we stood, but she beat me to it.
"It's fine Hestia. I understand. You couldn't have done anything even if you tried, and in the end Anya and I made peace. You just want to save your people, I of all people understand that."
I licked my chapped lips and nodded.
"So we're good?"
I clarified.
"As good as we can be. I need your help, we're going to make a deal with the commander."
I frowned.
"Clarke what on earth do you have to offer? You really want to bet your life on it?"
Clarke smiled slightly.
"Leave the deal making to me, you're mostly there to diffuse the hostility. You're going home."
That brought an unfightable smile to my face, but I quickly remembered the seriousness of the situation.
"It's a two mile trek. Think you can make it?"
Clarke's mother asked me.
I smirked.
"I made it here didn't I?"
"Technically you made it within a few miles of here, then Anya had to carry you on her back."
Clarke said flatly.
I cringed.
"Remind me never to almost die again."
Ta da! Sorry I haven't updated in awhile guys.
