My breath hitches in my throat and I can just imagine the dumbfounded look on my face as I stare up at those green eyes that seem to be the only thing I'm seeing these days. Chewing on my lip, I glance down to my hands as they sit on his chest.
"Well," I begin, my voice is a bit shaky at first, "thats all fine and good, Harry. But I'm not yours." I glance from his eyes to his nose down to his lips and back up.
"How much you wanna bet?" He whispers, leaning down so his nose is less than a centimeter away from mine and his face is out of focus due to our proximity.
"A lot." I sharply say. "Now bring me back to the hotel." I push on his chest and break all contact we had less than five seconds ago.
His annoyed expression never leaves his face, he doesn't even say anything to me before he turns around and heads to where I assume his overly expensive car is parked. I follow behind him and I can't help but watch his back, or how he takes long strides that if I attempted I'd probably pull a muscle. How he walks with ease, and dips his head to push his hair back out of his face with his hands. I don't even stop admiring all of this when he gets into the drivers seat.
"Gonna get in? Or am I going to have to leave you here too?" He asks, an amused smirk on his face.
I roll my eyes, rounding the car and opening my door before slipping into the passenger seat. A knot in my stomach stays present as we drive down the road. Images of Harry so close to me run through my mind.
"Why so quiet?" His raspy voice broke the solid silence that sat in the car.
"Why not." I muttered, looking out the window at the passing sites.
"Because without fail you always have something to say." He kept his eyes on the road
"Well maybe its the person asking the questions, ever think of that?" I huff out, finally turning to meet his hooded green eyes.
"Ever think I never did anything to you." He stares back to the road intensely.
"Ever think I just really don't like you?" I snap. "You blackmailed me into pretending to be your girlfriend just because I was making out with my boyfriend in a bathroom stall."
The car jerks to a stop and I'm surprised I didn't get whiplash from the sudden stop. I look out to see we're back at the hotel.
"And you think I'm fucking proud to blackmail a girl into being my pretend girlfriend?" He all but yells. "Do you think I'm proud to be known as the guy who fucking used girls his whole teenage life?!" The rage is clear and his face is nearly beat red, I want to jump out of the car but I stay put.
In a quick motion he punches the steering wheel of the car and I flinch from instinct. He looks at me one last time before getting out of his car and slamming the door, taking off inside. The rain starts to pour and I sit in my spot for a few more seconds before slowly getting out and walking to the door.
This is the actual first time that Harry has lashed out, and it still stuns me that Harry does have feelings. I mean any normal human being does, but he just knows how to hide his so well.
As I open the hotel door, I see Harry sitting on his bed with his phone pressed against his ear.
"Mhm, yup. I'll see you in a bit, love you too Aspen."
Harrys green eyes meet mine as I close the door behind me, his expression is emotionless. Much different from the expression he wore in the car.
"My sister is coming over to meet you, I'm leaving. Don't wait up." He pushes by me and leaves the room.
Entering the room was not at all like when we exited the room this morning. This morning was playful and easy going, but entering was tense and difficult. I sit down on my bed and grab the book that I had placed on the night stand, If I Stay. I heard they're making the movie, so I decided to read it before going to see it in theaters because thats just the type of person I am.
Within the short span of ten quick minutes, there was a knock on the door. Sighing a very heavy sigh, I put my book mark back in my book and closed it before setting it back perfectly in its spot where I had grabbed it from. Getting off my bed, I silently walked over to the door, already knowing who was behind it. I opened the door, but I what I hadn't expected was a blonde girl to embrace me into a very tight hug.
"Its great to meet you!" She squeals, shaking me during the hug.
"You too." I say, awkwardly hugging her back.
"May I come in?" She steps back and smiles at me, her smile reminds me so much of her mothers and Harry's.
"Yeah, of course!" I smile, stepping aside so she can walk in past me.
I follow after the blonde, and she sits over on Harry's bed, I decide to sit on my bed facing her since the beds really weren't all too big. The smile that was on her face when I'd opened the door was still present on her face and it never left.
"I'm so happy you for you guys!" She shook her head while smiling wildly.
"Thank you, it means a lot." I look down to my chipped nail polish and then back up to Aspen.
"I'm just so glad that Harry has finally settled down with someone, I swear that boy has only been in one serious relationship in his life." She rolls her eyes.
"Really?" I ask in disbelief, I may not like Harry but I'm willing to admit he's attractive. You would think he would have dated bunches of girls.
"Yeah, it was one bad relationship and after that he was done." She frowned.
"Wow." I shake my head.
"Yup. He used to be a happy guy, believe it or not. But after that one relationship, his life just went South, because he let it." She looked at me. "I'm just so happy he's finally giving it another shot, I knew he'd find a girl worth fighting for. And thank the heavens that I actually like his girlfriend!" She laughs, but what she said still caught my attention, how'd his life go South?
"Wait." I stare at her. "What do you mean his life went South? Harry seems like your average boy." I shake my head.
"Well he is now," She took in a sharp breath. "but after he dated this girl, our dad died two weeks after they broke it up. That just made everything on Harry so much more tough, and he started doing things that he shouldn't be doing. I mean I'm not saying he's not doing them anymore, but–"
"What kind of things?" I frowned, I was concerned, I'll admit it.
"Um," She looked nervous. "Harry hasn't told you?" She asked.
"He might have, I just can't remember." I lie.
"He used to fight for money, and do illegal street races." The look in her eyes in clear disappointment and worry.
"What?" I shake my head, hoping I'd heard her wrong.
"Yeah. Thats where he is tonight, a street race."
My heart stopped.
