"Oh just some not very well known company. You probably wouldn't even know of it." Harry quickly blurts and I shoot a glare up at him. Smooth.

I nod along, but apparently Marie wasn't even paying attention anymore. She quickly set up the table for what I assume was going to be lunch. In no time she was on to another topic, something about an old store downtown had caught fire and there was nothing they could do to save it. To say Harry looked mortified would be an understatement. His grip on my waist tightened significantly and he looked at his mom as if waiting for her to say it was just a joke.

But that it wasn't, Harry soon caught onto this and let go of me in order to sit down at the table. This didn't bother me one bit, it actually took weight off my shoulders as I leaned against the wall and watched. There was no way I was going to say anything about something I knew nothing about and apparently meant a lot to harry.

"Really? That was my favorite store, why didn't you call and tell me?" He frowned, running his hand through his hair as he looked more stressed than I'd seen him in the past couple of days.

"Well honey, I was just a bit thrown off was all. I forgot it was your favorite store. I mean, its just a store." Those last couple of words did it. Though it was such a simple thing to say it triggered Harry into someone I'd never seen. Not even when we were kids and barely knew each other.

"Are you serious?! My father used to take me to that store all the fucking time!" He yelled and in one quick flash he was banging his hand angrily off the table and standing up so quick that his chair toppled over backwards.

"Harry, just calm down. Its nothing to get angry ov–"

"Its everything to get angry over, mom!" We all stood there for a few seconds, me with probably the most bewildered look on my face. After those few seconds, Harry glanced at his mother one last time and stormed out. Where he was going, I don't know. I don't even think he knew.

Marie's face looked bewildered as she stood there by the table shaking her head. I did the only thing I could think of. Ran after him.

After sending a sympathetic look her way, I turned and left the way Harry did. Walking out the door, it wasn't even remotely hard to find the curly haired boy as he sat on an old porch swing that was off to the right of the yard. I took in a deep breath, bracing myself to be as civil as I could be with Harry. I took off and when I approached Harry, his eyes were closed and his head was resting against the back of the swing.

His peaceful state didn't last long. As soon as I sat down next to him, his eyes immediately shot open and glanced over at me.

"You alright?" I asked after a few seconds.

"Yeah." He nodded, chewing the inside of his lip.

"You didn't really seem it." I said, pulling my legs up against my chest and wrapping my arms against them.

"I don't really seem like a lot of things, do I?" He didn't make eye contact with me, he just stared ahead at the trees that surrounded the peaceful house.

"Well– I don't know. What do you mean?" I pondered, staring at the trees as well.

"I don't know." He sighed, pushing his hand through his hair in an exasperated manner.

"Why'd you run out?" I blurted, wishing I hadn't but its not like I could have taken it back, besides I did want to know.

He stared at me for a few seconds too long before pondering the question and replying with, "My dad died when I was thirteen, he was in a bad car crash. He died instantly, there was nothing anyone could do to save him." His voice cracking near the end.

"I'm so sorry." I breathed, I never expected someone like Harry to have such major problems.

"I don't want your pity." He rolled his eyes.

"Fine then." I huffed, "This is why I can't stand you, Styles. Because you take everything the wrong way, you always have. Even when we were kids." I said, getting up off the swing and heading back into the house.

"Harry! Give Alyssa your arm!" Marie grumbles, Harry has been disobedient all night, ever since we got here he just hasn't been cooperating. So we stand here, Harry shoving his arm out as he rolled his eyes and the girl by the name of Alyssa linked her arm around his and they walked down to where the priest was.

Everyone soon walked in and walked out just as fast, I hadn't talked to Harry since the porch swing incident. I was still pretty mad at him for jumping to conclusion. I was trying to be nice to the guy for once and he just goes and screws it up. Typical Harry.

"Thank you everyone for coming to the rehearsals! We'll see you all tomorrow." Marie said through the microphone with a smile that could cure diseases, she was just the sweetest lady I'd ever met and she didn't deserve for Harry to act like a total ass earlier.

I got up out of the chairs and headed out the front of the church. I wasn't even going to try and find Harry, I was just going to go sit in the car until he decided it was time to head home. That was until he stopped me mid-way to the car.

"Carissa!" I heard his voice call from behind me. I turned with a hand resting on my hip, giving him a look.

"What do you want, Harry?" I asked, probably sounding more pissed than I was.

"Are you going to the party with me tonight?" He asked, walking down the stairs towards me.

I scoffed, "A party? With you?" I asked, rolling my eyes. "Absolutely not." I bit out.

"Why not?" He wondered, nearing me.

"Maybe because you're a narcissistic asshole and I don't want to be around you." I blurted before I could even stop myself, but it felt nice to get it off my chest.

He looked a bit taken aback for a second, but soon recovered as one does. Or maybe just as Harry does. Wouldn't want anyone else to know he actually has feelings.

"Narcissistic asshole?" He questioned, walking so close to me that I'm sure the air I was breathing in was the air he was breathing out, even though I'm a good eight inches shorter than him.

"Yes." I nodded bravely.

"Well maybe I wouldn't come off as such a 'narcissistic asshole' if you weren't such a fucking bitch." He spat, walking around me and towards the car.

Not going to lie, it hurt. Because I had feelings unlike him, but it didn't hurt as much as he probably wanted it to. I rolled my eyes and followed after him, pulling the passenger door open, except I couldn't. It was locked and Harry had a shit eating grin on his face. Before I could even tell him to unlock the door, he was backing up and driving out of the parking lot leaving me stunned.

He actually just ditched me in a church parking lot.

That asshole!
