Mountain looked around at his home for the very last time of his life and sought out the happiness in himself that they were leaving it behind. As Mountain tried to figure out the way to go, Heather came up behind him to lick his ear.
"Mountain, I really am proud to be your sister, but before we leave, can I suggest changing something about our names? Like adding 'paw' behind them to symbolize the journey we are about to have. Like setting our paws on a different track," Heather asked; suggesting Mountain as a hopeful glow was in her gaze. Mountain climbed off the cliff he was standing in front of. To his family.
"My family, Heather, has had a lovely idea to symbolize this journey we will be taking. I will be changing names. From now on I will be known as Mountain Paw, Heather you will be Heather Paw, Swallow you will be Swallow Paw, Autumn you will be Autumn Paw, Cherry you will be Cherry Paw, Mist you will be Mist Paw, Sycamore you will be Sycamore Paw, and last, but not least, Birch you will be Birch Paw. If there are any questions being needed to ask, just ask me," Mountain Paw announced to his family before they set off on their journey.
Mountain Paw lead the way down the sloped terrain that was at the edge of their old territory before deciding which way they were to go next. As he got a feeling for their surroundings, he felt a fresh wave of the energy that was calling out to him. As he got this feeling, a thought flashed through his mind, A new home and an exciting journey to go with it. I can't wait to see where we are going. Star-shimmered foxes have decided that my family and I will follow the path of the Northern Lights glow.
"My family we must stop now. I have news. We will have to travel to get to our new territory by night, because as every fox knows, the Northern Lights are the best path to lead you to the place of magical origins. Now I know that we are all scared, because this could be dangerous, but let's be daring and take that chance!" Mountain Paw shouted at his family euthenastically. Meanwhile, the foxes of StarRange tried to tell him what to do.
"Mountain Paw, you may not be able to hear or see us now, but know we are with you guiding the way always. Now follow your heart to the mountains, they lead you. I decree that one day you will be leader of MountainRange,"Ashes announced to herself, able to see the true leader in Mountain Paw, but at the same time she could see disaster ahead for the young apprentice. Serval had just came up to join Ashes when suddenly, she started having a vision, Mountain Paw will become a great leader as you foresee, but within this path a mysterious death will come, a great risk too shall become clear.
"Ashes, what's going on, are you okay? Did you just receive another vision of the future to come?" Serval asked Ashes fearfully, afraid that more danger was to foreshadow them, but Ashes was too weak to tell him anything. The vision had taken a lot out of her. Serval then knelt down beside Ashes and picked her up off of the ground, and took her back to their den.
Back in the mountains, Mountain Paw was starting to wonder if he would get anymore visions from the star-shimmered foxes, but it wasn't looking like it, so he and his family stopped to rest and sleep for the last of the day, so they could travel at night.
