"Y/N L/N.""Scrooge McDuck."
You stood, facing your 'rival' and glared. It had been a long time since the two of you had seen each other. The last thing you can remember was when Goldie and Scrooge had left to go on an adventure. You hadn't seen either of the two since.
You stared coldly into the eyes of the richest duck in the world as three younger ducks stood behind him, two of them squealing for some reason while the third ran around in circles from excitement or something. You held in a chuckle as Scrooge eyed you. About to speak, Scrooge was rudely interrupted by one of the younger ducks.
"So Uncle Scrooge, is this another one of your ex's?" The duck in blue asked as the one in green stopped acting like an idiot.
"No, not exactly. Just an... acquaintance of mine, boys." Scrooge replied, the triplets frowning by his answer. "What do you want Y/N? Have you come to steal my money? Or do you want something else?"
You shook your head. It may have been a long time since the two of you met, but Scrooge hardly seemed to change. That might have been what attracted you in the first place. You never wanted to admit it, but you indeed had a crush on the billionaire, Scrooge McDuck.
"I wanted to go on a little adventure, that's all. You know, not every person you grew up with backstabbed you and tried leaving you for dead. I don't want your money Scrooge. All I wanted was to go out on an adventure like when we were younger. But whatever, it's fine. I'll just go on my own."
You sighed. All you wanted was to reconnect with Scrooge and hopefully have fun on an adventure.
Huey, Dewey, and Louie were not having it though. They wanted you and Scrooge to hook up. Now.
Turning your back and beginning to walk out the door, a single, "Wait!" came from the duck in red, who was holding a Junior Woodchuck Guidebook. You turned around to see the other two getting onto their hands and knees, begging Scrooge to not only accompany you on an adventure, but for him to take them with the two of you as well.
"Please Uncle Scrooge, we promise that we'll be good!" The green hoodie began. "And I'll even leave my phone here at the mansion, just please let us go with you!!"
You laughed when Scrooge sent you a 'Why did you have to get me into this mess?' face. He sighed and walked out the door. "Come along lads, the sooner we leave the sooner it'll all be over."
The boys excitedly followed their uncle and a smile was plastered onto your face. What could be better than going on an adventure with the Scrooge McDuck?
~the notorious time skip~
"What do you mean you don't know where we are?!" Scrooge yelled at you as you looked down and blushed. You had forgotten to tell him you didn't have a map.
You, Scrooge, and the boys were in the desert, searching for some ancient relics and gold that was lost in an abandoned and forgotten kingdom. There were only rumors about this treasure, but for all anyone knew, it was some hoax to trick tourists and young, greedy adventurers.
"I mean, I have no idea where we are! I don't even know if the treasure exists in he first place!" You admitted. Scrooge shook his head and rolled his eyes.
"This was a waste of time. Come along boys, let's get back to the mansion before we get even more lost." Scrooge told the triplets as he began to walk back in the direction from which all came.
By this time, you had learned their names. Louie began to follow Scrooge and Huey was thinking of an argument before following as well. Dewey didn't budge though. He wouldn't.
"Are you giving up?" The daring young duck asked his uncle. Scrooge and the other two turned around as Dewey walked towards you.
"What did you say?" Scrooge asked his nephew, glaring at you in the process.
"I asked you if you were giving up!" Dewey shouted back, staring down his uncle.
Scrooge sighed and reluctantly walked back. "Fine..." He muttered, continuing on.
A few more hours flew by and the boys were talking to each other. You watched them and smiled.
"I'll never understand those kids." Scrooge said to you, and in return, you tilted your head.
"Since when did you get so soft?" You jokes as Scrooge denied your claim.
"I am not soft! I'll have you know that I-" He began before tripping over a switch that was disguised as a rock. A trapdoor opened near the boys, and you helped Scrooge up before going to investigate.
"Is this it?" Louie asked excitedly.
"Do you think that they'll be a bunch of boobytraps?" Dewey curiously wondered.
The two jumped down through the trapdoor before you, Scrooge, or Huey could stop them. Huey followed after them, and Scrooge stepped out of the way, allowing you to go before him.
As soon as you and Scrooge caught up with the boys, you both noticed Louie collecting as much gold as he could possibly fit in his hoodie, Huey cataloging all the relics that he saw, and Dewey complaining and muttering to himself that it was too easy to find the treasure and that there should have been something more dangerous about the cavern.
"Well... we found it!" You smiled at Scrooge.
"Indeed we have." Scrooge smiled back. He never admitted it, but he always liked to adventure with you when you two were younger. Every time you had a chance to stab him in the back, you chose him over gold, treasure, and expensive artifacts. No matter how many times he thought you were untrustworthy, he knew deep down that he trusted you more than anyone.
"Alright, I say we spilt the treasure half and half. You get one half, and I'll take the other. It seems only fair, eh?" Scrooge proposed, but you turned his offer down.
"I don't want any of the treasure. I only wanted to go on an adventure with you Scrooge..." You began, blushing slightly. "You're the only treasure I need..." You mumbled a bit too loud.
There was a moment of silence, as Scrooge was trying to process your words through his brain properly. It didn't help that the set of triplets went from freaking out on the inside to yelling and squealing at the top of their lungs while jumping up and down and running around the cave like maniacs.
You facepalmed and scolded yourself. "I-I didn't mean it like that!" You told Scrooge, though you knew you did.
"Y/N, how would you like to go on a date with me?" Scrooge started as you looked at him, shocked. "And of course, it'll just be the two of us." He added as Huey, Dewey, and Louie booed and complained.
"I'd love that..." You responses, still a bit dazed from the incident.
Scrooge grabbed your hand and you two began to make your way out of the cave, leaving the treasure behind. Scrooge was the only treasure you needed, and you were the only treasure he wanted. Huey and Dewey fangirled behind you, and Louie was left alone.
"What about the treasure?" He shouted, receiving no response. "Guys? Guys!" He yelled as he ran off to find everyone, staring at the treasure one last time before he exited the cavern.
Don't worry, you and Scrooge went back for the treasure later on. You two couldn't resist.
