"WAAAH!!"
Another stack of papers was now on the floor, messing up Gyro's perfect system yet again. You sighed and felt your surroundings until you located a large enough surface to help prop you up. Once you were standing again, you glanced at the large mess that you'd have to pick up and reorganize.
You got to work immediately, ignoring your boss and coworker as they stepped into the room and commented about your mistake. You could hear the disappointment in your boss' voice as he continued on, yet you still felt eyes on you.
As you grabbed the last piece of paper, Fenton Crackshell-Cabrera appeared from behind you, nearly startling you. You held tightly onto the stack in your hands and continued on, going back to your work station to rearrange all of the files that were in an incorrect order now.
"If you want, I could help you," a chipper voice offered as you hummed to indicate that you had heard him. "I'm all set," you quickly replied, not looking up from your tedious task.
Fenton has always been trying to assist in any way he could, especially when it seemed you needed help. To his dismay, you always shook him off and declined his friendly offers. It wasn't that you didn't like him, it was just that you wanted to do the work yourself, without anyone's help.
After an hour or so of you reorganizing the stack, you had finally gotten to your final paper. You lifted your head up in praise as you neatened up the pile, holding it firmly in your hands as you went to deliver it to your boss.
Then, you slipped, throwing the papers into the air as you hit your head against the cold, dirty lab floor. Groaning in a pain, you felt the touch of someone's hand as they helped you up, their smile making you feel a bit better about your mistake.
You stared at the papers as your head throbbed in agonizing pain. You really didn't want to deal with picking it all up again and sorting through it for the third time today.
"Let me help you with that," your savior, Fenton, pitched in, bending over to pick up the papers that you had dropped... again. Before you could even think about shutting down his offer, Gyro placed a hand on your shoulder and said, "He's not going to leave you alone until he helps you."
You don't know why, but the way Gyro said that made you feel like Fenton had been waiting to help specifically you for quite some time.
Hm... I wonder why...
