I fiddled with my pen as I watched the clock...it ticked so damn slow. This class was a) boring and b) useless. "Dalisay! Pay attention!" The teacher snapped. I blushed and looked back at the board. All of it, so confusing...muddling letters and numbers. "So, what does the equation on the board equal Dalisay? Come up here and write it!" the teacher yelled. "I don't know..." I mumbled. "This is one of the easiest equations ever... It's because you haven't been paying attention!" She replied. "No Miss, it's because I actually don't understand it." I glared at her.

"Even James the dumbest kid in this class can answer it!" She shouted. "HEY!" James cried. "I giggled a little, but frowned when the meaning sunk in. The teacher had just insulted James, which made me feel pretty bad about myself. "At least we all know who the dumbest kid in the class is!" James teased. I looked at the teacher, a satisfied smirk on her face.

After the bell went everyone went, but I was told to stay back. I walked to the teachers desk, in the corner of my eye, I saw a student waiting outside the door. "Dalisay! What the hell?! You should know this stuff by now! This is like shit from year 7!" The teacher looked me in the eyes. "Why are you teaching us year 7 stuff?" I replied. "It's just a recap of course, and you're in year 9 now, all of this should be set in your mind!" She explained. "Miss, you do realise you are putting me down!" I stuttered nervously. "Dalisay I am sorry... I was just so confused when you couldn't answer the question. Because I knew you used to be quite smart." She face palmed herself. I cringed at her actions and backed away. "Miss I am sorry, I will um...studyyy um more then..." I hissed then backed away. As my clumsy feet kept walking back I bumped into someone. Someone I assume that had overheard the whole conversation...I turned around to see an asian guy, with silver hair, round glasses, and a lean body. "I'm sorry..." I whispered at I stared at the ground.

"It's all good...Dalisay. I'm Juan by the way...See you around." He said in a deep voice, winked at me then walked to the teachers desk. I blushed, holding my books tightly against my thumping chest. I turned to go to my locker, he was so attractive...I felt weak. I quickly packed up my stuff and left school, with Juan on my mind. As I was walking home I was smiling to myself, the walkers group from the aged care spotted me on the other side of the road. They looked at me strangely, and then continued to dawdle. I got myself home in a reasonable amount of time, still smiling. I felt possessed just by one person, there was little communication. But it did a whole lot to me.

That night went past pretty quickly, the next morning I got up. I changed into my school uniform and looked in the mirror...Why was I now worrying about what I looked like. "Fuck it..." I mumbled. I must have looked fine yesterday since Juan 'winked' at me. I felt nervous walking through the school entrance, then to the lockers. My head was down, as I tried to look innocent.

My heart was beating rapidly, as I managed to get my books together for maths. Then I snapped out of cupids curse, oh shit. I didn't study, the teacher is going to kill me! I walked to maths, my cheeks were so red. I was so anxious to face maths, the subject that I was struggling with. I walked in and flinched, the teacher looked at me. "Ah Dalisay! How did your studying go?" I looked down and frowned. "You did study? didn't you?" She frowned. I noticed Juan sitting at the front, listening to our conversation once again. His dark eyes flickered from the teacher to me, back and fourth. "Umm I forgot to!" I stuttered. "Dalisay?! Seriously...your grades are...dropping." She said softly.

I looked down, then headed to take a seat. I was so embarrassed, and didn't realise that the whole class was watching. I didn't even notice them walk in...As I slumped in my seat, I noticed Juan staring at me. I tried to force a smile, but couldn't. He grinned at me then looked back at the teacher. Maths was a nightmare, especially when you couldn't understand it. "What is wrong with me..." I whispered to myself. After the class finished I once again held my head down, now everyone knew I was dumb. I was lucky to slip out of class when it finished, because I knew the teacher would hold me back...I jumped when I heard a voice calling my name. "Dalisay!" Juan called. I turned around and Juan raced to me "Are you okay?" he sounded concerned. "Yeah I'm fine thank you." I whispered in reply. Suddenly a beautiful girl with grey eyes, and long black hair ran to Juan and hugged him. "Hey!" She exclaimed. "Hey..." He replied. I stood there awkwardly for a second, then left. I was quite disappointed, but my plan was to play hard to get. I didn't assume that was his girlfriend at all, and quite frankly I could tell.

As I was walking down the hallway I heard my name again "Dalisay wait!" I turned around to see Juan running towards me. "She isn't my girlfriend! It's not what you think!" He explained. This was just a typical movie sentence, and it pissed me off that he assumed I walked away because of that. "Oh I know that, I just need to go." I responded confidently. He must have been eager if he ran all the way down here to 'reassure' me. His cheeks turned red. "Oh...um...I'm sorry...I just didn't want you to um...take it the wrong way..." He stuttered. I laughed, "it's all good, no stress see you around." I turned to head to my next class. I was shocked at how confident I felt, but I'm sure Juan was probably kicking himself about it. Oops, that sounded cocky.
