I awoke wrapped in the thick, warm duvet I had been gifted with the night before on my bed. Sighing in content, I buried my head further into my pillow with a slight groan, only to feel it vibrate slightly.

Wait. Pillows don't vibrate!

Screeching, I sprung up from what turned out to be none other than Weylyns' chest, falling off the bed in a heap, earning a deep chuckle from my oh so handsome mate.

"Morning, princess." He chuckled.

"I told you to stay to your side! And look what happens? I end up with you all over me!"

"Actually, for your information, if you would be so kind to as notice that I, in fact, was not the one to move onto the other side of your indestructible pillow wall, nor was I the one on top of someone. " Weylyn stated smugly.

Standing up like a newborn deer, I looked over to notice that he was in fact, right. I was the one who had in my sleep somehow gravitated towards him.

oops

I tucked a piece of my brown hair behind my ear, suddenly realising I must have looked a mess. I knew I was never a pretty sight in the morning. Goddess by day... troll by night.

"You look fine, come here," Weylyn said from his place on the bed, opening his arms in a welcoming gesture.

I debated my options for a moment before crawling across the bed to sit next to him, which apparently wasn't what he was aiming for as I soon found myself being tugged into his lap, leaving me to straddle one of his huge thighs as my back pressed against his chest. I stiffened for a moment before relaxing as he began running his fingers through my slightly knotted hair.

I started feeling uncomfortable with the silence between us, causing me to pick up his spare hand, fiddling with his fingers, tracing one of my own along his palm lightly, following the contours. I furrowed my brows as I took a closer look at the skin on his hands, it seemed thicker than elsewhere I had seen, almost like scars...

"What's this?" I asked, breaking the peace.

His hand recoiled like I was poison. "Nothing", and just like that, the mood was gone along with happy Weylyn. "My father is expecting us in his office in half an hour. Go and shower, I will get one of the omegas to bring you clothes, I'll go into a spare room. Wait here when you're done," and then he was up and out the door.

I sighed before getting up and making my way into the bathroom, trying -and failing- not to let the tears slip from my eyes.

oh, mum, please help me, I don't know what to do.

Twenty minutes later, I was sat on the edge of the bed, waiting for my mate to return, my tears long dried and now replaced with my hunger, I  couldn't really remember the last substantial meal I had eaten. The door suddenly burst open and no other than my glorious mate stood brooding in the doorway like a hormonal teenager. geesh, why is he so riled up?

"follow me," he grunted before turning on his heels and walking off at a quick pace down the hallways.

"Hey, wait up, little legs here!" I exclaimed jogging behind him to attempt and keep up, eaning nothing but another grunt from him. again. "okay caveman got it no talking"

suddenly he stopped, making me crash into his back, before he knocked on the door, waiting for a response.

"Why are you mad at me? What did I do?" I tried to sound strong but my voice wobbled and I knew my sadness was evident in my eyes as within seconds my mates eyes softened and I was pulled into his strong embrace once more.

"I'm so sorry my beautiful mate, its just I have to learn I can let you in when I've taught myself to be strong. You're different, you're my luna." he kissed the top of my head before pushing the large oak door open, revealing his father sat behind his desk.

Weylyn entered first, lightly clasping my hand as he pulled me into the office behind him and sitting us down on the two chairs opposite his father.

"Your mother should be here in a moment, she's just getting the girls ready for school." his father spoke suddenly, quickly glancing up from whatever document he was signing. He wrote a few more lines before sighing and placing the pen down on the desk, stretching slightly and looking me dead in the eye.

"So, Pandia? is it..." he looked for my approval, I nodded. "alright, a few questions I need to ask okay?"

I nodded again.

"so how did you get on my pack lands so far without being stopped?" he started.

I froze, I hadn't really expected an interrogation. "Er, I'm not sure, I just landed here and started running, I had no idea where I was, "I explained as truthfully as possible.

"and which pack are you from?"

"Oh, I not actually from a pack..."

I saw Weylyn stiffen slightly from the corner of my eye as his father straightened up in his chair, his posture becoming slightly more threatening. "so you're a rouge then?"

I began nibbling on one of my newly cleaned nails, thinking of how to respond. "Not exactly... my mother and I didn't live a wolf life."

His eyes seemed to squint in confusion before relaxing slightly. "so you and your mother live a more... human life?" he asked, sounding as confused as I felt.

"exactly."

Weylyn reached over and squeezed my thigh reassuringly, allowing me to send him a brief smile before returning my attention to his father.

"Okay, thank you." the old alpha spoke, running a hand through his greying hair. "Just one last thing; why don't you smell like us? I can't get a wolf scent off you, have you masked it somehow?"

I froze, realising I would have had to tell them sooner or later, I was hoping for later but this is me and my luck we're talking about. "Er, well about that... I'm not actually a shifter..."

 All hell broke loose.
