Kat

Just as expected, the morning was rocky. I woke up around six when the light began to poke through my fabric door from the windows far above me. I needed to wash my hair so I made my way straight to the communal showers, no one would be there yet due to the early hours other than those up early for their various worships or whatever. I took over an unoccupied shower stall and began to undress before I let the water run to make it warm. Those fucking things were always freezing when you first got in, they were more like shitty camping showers or those ones at the swimming pool. You know the ones.

Once the water had warmed up, I stepped under the stream and let all of my worries wash away down the drain. All my worries about Louis, about this new asshat that Henry brought back with him and about Thomas...

My Thomas.

There were so many problems surrounding Thomas. Henry knew how much he meant to me when he sent him out of the safe house to face the world alone. He knew what would happen and he did it anyway. Although, I suppose Thomas deserved to be kicked out, after what he did...

I think Louis was suspicious of me. I should have taken my bag that night. He wouldn't say anything to Henry, nothing important anyway. He'd just mention that I left and acted strangely when I came back. Honestly, I'm not really sure why I lied to him when he was waiting outside for me. I just knew that I couldn't tell him the truth. He may not have told Henry but he wouldn't have acted the same and Henry's pet would have worked it out sooner or later.

I finished up in the shower when the water began to run cold again and dried myself off with the towel I had taken from the charity shop supplies. My new red dress was hung up on the door to the cubical, along with my favourite leather jacket and my midnight purple leather boots which were waiting for me in the corner. I put on my underwear, bra and dress then paused to run gentle fingers along the leather of the black jacket.

Taking it down from the hook I looked at the label inside and ran my thumb over the name written there in thick black marker.

Thomas Parton.

Letting a deep sigh escape my lips, I swung the jacket around and put it on before crouching to put on my boots. When I'd finished getting dressed, I stepped out of the cubical and over to the broken mirrors by the sinks. I put my heavy backpack on the side and took out my makeup bag, beginning to apply all the things I felt like using that day with well-practised hands.

Eventually, my morning routine was done with and I walked out of the bathrooms only to see Louis and Henry whispering to each other outside of the men's showers. I know for sure that those two never whisper to one-another because Louis doesn't trust a thing that Henry says and assumes that he'll overreact to anything he tells him. Henry...well, he was just Henry. Glancing around the area, I didn't see Henry's new attachment anywhere. That was worrying until I realised that's probably why they were stood outside of the men's bathrooms looking like a couple of shady idiots.

I approached them and stood beside Louis, smiling my nicest smile. "Morning boys. What are we talking about?" I thought that was an innocent question for anyone to ask but apparently not because Louis didn't answer with his usual jokes, he just looked away from me.

Henry had no problem speaking up though. "Louis thinks that I should hand Edward to the police. I think he's insane. Edward is troubled, sure, but he needs friends, not a prison cell. I don't think he's had friends before. He had a nightmare last night, I can't just make him leave knowing that he's having nightmares about whatever he did. It means that some part of him cares and I want to help him tap into it. He'll be torn apart out there or worse." He paused, we both knew what he meant by that so I just rolled my eyes and looked away from him. He continued in a more gentle tone. "Besides, he hasn't done anything to us yet and you guys haven't even given him a chance."
