Okay, first of all, I'm so sorry for how short this is and how long it took me to get it out. I've been having a really tough time recently trying to battle my depression and I honestly just haven't felt up to writing. I haven't felt up to much really but it's here and I did it so enjoy and please feel free to tell me what you think in the comments

Edward

First thing the following morning, I told Henry I was going for a walk; that I wanted to explore the land around my new home on my own.

Of course, that was a lie.

I was going to investigate the building that he refused to tell me about.

I put on my coat, tied my pink scarf around my neck and set out over the field towards the city. If I had headed straight to the building, I would be walking directly into new territory on my own and by the sounds of things these people weren't entirely friendly. By walking through the city I would ensure that I had the upper hand on these people, that I could see them before they saw me.

The city was still sleeping when I entered it's silent streets. It must have rained the night before as there were puddles scattered down the road as well as little raindrops decorating every parked car that I passed.

The shops still had their shutters down other than the small early morning cafes which were just getting ready to accept their first customers of the day. The sun was peeking over the buildings and the glass windows of the shops and cafes reflected the light, turning the city to white crystal.

I noticed as I walked that there was a male in a coat following me through the still streets towards the other building. In an attempt to lose him through the alleyways, I began to turn and wind my way through the narrower streets. I would have gotten lost myself, if I hadn't memorised the cities street patterns and maps when I was younger. Eventually I not only lost the male, but I found myself stood in the field in front of the larger grey building I had been trying so hard to reach.

Hanging over the large iron gate door was a banner which read

Welcome to Rover's Ville. Fuck off.

As I approached the building, twigs snapping under my feet, the gate began to swing slowly open.

The man who walked through was extraordinary.

His hair was white as snow, and thick as fog. The shape of his face was angular and almost perfectly curved, his jawline defined and cheekbones prominent. Rubies made his eyes which twinkled in the rays of the sunrise as he stepped out of the shadows. As pale as his face was, against his dark black and deep purple clothing, it suited him all brilliantly.

His voice was almost exactly as I expected it to be when I saw him, deep and commanding but still friendly. The tone he used held not a single hint of sinister intentions but instead was warm.

"Who might you be, walking anywhere near here in Henry's shirt?"

The question made me think. That obviously meant whoever this stranger was had a connection to Henry which lasted a while, he recognised his shirt which meant they must have been close; or he observed him a lot. The second thing I noticed was that he didn't seem to want me close to his building if I was a friend of Henry's. That told me something must have happened in order for him to feel that way when it was likely they were once close friends. The third and final thing I noticed was that he didn't know who I was.

"My name is Edward. I'm a friend of Henry's but he told me to stay away from this building. Naturally, I had to investigate." I told the truth, I had a feeling this man could be dangerous if you lied to him. "I just want answers to all my questions but Henry isn't willing to provide."

"Ah, " He began as a Cheshire cat grin spread across his lips. "in that case come in. I'd be willing to answer all your questions."
