Lost and Found

Chapter 6

-Zayn POV-

We left Bear at the bus with Louis and Harry. They said they would come to the hospital later. Liam drove and me and Niall sat in the backseat of the van. It seemed like forever since it all happened. When we finally got to the hospital I ran through the front doors. I was so paranoid. Niall and Liam grabbed my shoulders and sat me down in a chair.

Niall went to find a doctor so we could see her. I just hoped she was ok. Liam stayed with me and patted my back to try to comfort me. “It’s going to be ok.”

“How do you know it is Li. You don’t know.” I was yelling at him in the middle of the hospital. People were starting to stare but I didn’t care. Liam backed off as Niall came over.

“She is in room 214. We can go see her now if you want.” I looked up at him and just walked past him. I hit the elevator button to go up to the next floor so I could see if Nicole was ok. Keep calm Zayn. Just keep calm. I thought to myself. I was preparing myself for the worst.

Liam and Niall both came in with me. A nurse came in behind us and said that she might not be awake for a while but I still wanted to see her. We went inside the room and I felt myself getting weak again when I saw her. She looked broken with scratches all over her. Her leg was broken but it could have been worse.

Later that day Louis and Harry came. We all went down to eat but because I didn’t want to leave her alone Niall stayed. I think all the boys could see I needed a break. I didn’t want to go but they made me.

-Niall’s POV-

The boys took Zayn down to eat dinner. He hasn’t eaten anything since we got here. Sure I wanted to eat but I wasn’t going to let my friend down. Nicole was sleeping peacefully until she started to wake up. She looked up at me then around the room. Fear came across her face. “W-w-what happened?” She said stuttering.

“The roads were very icy. You had a car crash.” I explained.

More fear and hurt came across her face. Tears filled her eyes. She started to get up. It was clear she was in pain but it was like her life depended on it. “No. Bear.” Was all she could get out.

“Nicole stop!” I screamed. I put my hands on her shoulders and pushed her back down in the bed before she did anything else to herself. She was still fighting to get up. “Bear is fine. I promise.” I yelled. She suddenly stopped fighting me and laid down.

“A-a-are y-you sur-re?” She looked up at me. I knew how much she loved that dog.

I laughed “Yes, he didn’t want to leave you though.” She laughed with me but stopped because of the pain. A young nurse wearing blue came in to check Nicole but instead she was checking me out. Keep dreaming lady. She said she had to give Nicole some painkillers. She walked out of the room to get them.

“Niall?” She asked.

“Yes love?” I replied.

“Can you come lay down with me?” Tears were in her eyes. She was all alone. I know I shouldn’t have been doing this but Nicole needed me.

“Sure.” We both got under the covers of the hospital bed. The nurse came in and gave Nicole a glare. She put the painkillers in then left. Nicole laid her head down on my chest as I stroked her hair. I hummed to her until I saw her get really tired. “Go to sleep and I will be here when you wake up.” I assured. Zayn is going to kill me if he finds out. She fell asleep right when Zayn and Louis walked in.

Oh crap. Zayn looked so hurt when he saw us together. He ran out of the room with Louis chasing after him. Liam walked in with Harry seconds after. “What is wrong with Za-oh“ Liam said. I looked at him with a shocked look. Harry just stood in the back and smirked.

“I didn’t do anything I swear!” I tried to defend myself. Liam was still in shock and Harry was still smirking. Honestly I would think Louis would have been the one to do this but Harry?

Liam wiped the shocked look away from his face and said “Niall, you can’t do this to Zayn. He really loves her. He thinks that she is the one.” Liam was always watching out for us. “You should go talk to him and explain yourself.”

“But I really didn’t do anything Li.” I said worried what Zayn would do to me.

“I know that Niall but Zayn doesn’t.” He did have a point.

“Well I’m going to find Louis so we can go back to the hotel. If anyone else wants to come then let’s go.” Harry chimed in. He walked out of the room quickly.

Liam said he was going to stay and I’m sure Zayn was. I was only staying because I told Nicole I would but I really just wanted to get out of Zayn’s way.

“I will talk to him later. Ok Liam?” He nodded his head and walked out of the room. Why is everything this difficult I thought to myself. I carefully and gently slipped out of the bed and kissed Nicole on the head and whispered “Sweet dreams.”

I can’t fall for her. It would hurt Zayn so much. Just thinking about every time he would see me with her hurt me. It would break us all apart. I will not be the one responsible for that.

I laid down on the couch and soon found myself sleeping peacefully.

I woke up the next morning very early. Zayn was still asleep in the chair beside me. He must have came in while I was sleeping. I went down to the lunch room and ate my breakfast. Boring cereal. I brought up a muffin for Zayn.

Walking back up to the room was so scary. What was I going to tell Zayn? Is he going to hate me forever?

We have to leave for home later but I won’t go if she isn’t ok and better. I stepped foot in her room and saw Zayn. He was wide awake and his eyes were bloodshot. Yep. Niall this is your last day on Earth.
