Sweet like a chica cherry cola
I don't need to try to explain
I just hold on tight and If it happens again
I may move so slightly to the arms
And the lips and the face
Of The Human Cannonball that
I need to I want toFlashback to Joey and Joy one night stand.
Maybe my friends were right, maybe college is about having fun just as much as learning. You have to weigh both out or else you'll just get dragged down. I didn't want that, I want to have fun, I need to let loose or else I'm gonna drown.
I always focus on others more than myself. I want to make my parents proud, they've done such a good job raising me and being the only child, maybe suffocate me a little too much as well. I love them none of the less but I think for once I deserve to have a little fun.
I know nothing about drinks so I have no clue why I decide to have fun at a bar. I've never been to one either, I've always been scared. That's my point, I've always been scared.
I've let my fears hold me back for far too long and I didn't want that for my junior year of college. Katie's had a one night stand, Alley's had multiple, same with Ryan, and I haven't even had my first kiss and I'm twenty!
I walk into the dark club that had led flashing lights everywhere, that's what help me guide myself to the bar.
I can't even name one alcoholic drink besides beer, it's easy to say and it's very common.
"What can I get you?" The bartender was a friendly brunette, she was gorgeous and she has great taste, though, I would pair those earrings with that shirt, big no.
"I'll take the most popular drink." I smile at her before she holds up a finger and attends to her work behind her. I bet it's fun being a bartender, I want to be a fashion designer, but I'll settle with being a physical therapist.
"Hey baby" I hear a familiar voice when I see Joey, the boy that Alley had a fling with, they were together at the party, but not actually together. He was trying to get the bartenders attention.
I had on a decent length black dress with a low cutline, I have all these cute dresses that Alley and Katie steal from my closet and I never wear them. This one was my favorite, it was silky and I paired with my favorite red heels, the candy apples colored heels.
"Go away Joey, I'm working." She huffs before handing me a drink with a cherry on a stick. Fancy, I like.
"Well, well, well. Haven't I seen you before?" I turn my attention towards him as he notices me and slides down to the chair next to me. Truthfully, he's pretty good looking.
"I'm a friend of alleys." I see him tap his head.
"See, I knew that! What are you doing here? Do you like to party all alone? That's no fun." He pouts.
Don't sound like a loser.
"This is my first time at a bar." I admitted, feeling my hands get clammy.
"No shit! Really? That's kinda hot." I felt my cheeks get red. I don't want anything to do with him though, I'm pretty sure Alley wants a thing with him but yet again, she was talking to another guy. I don't know, it's still wrong right?
"Lets take a shot together!" He holds up two fingers before the brunette rushes back to fill up two small glass cups before putting them in front of us.
I know nothing about shit like this, my mind is freaking out.
"This is a shot, you take them fast. These are actually pretty popular but they aren't my favorite. I prefer half bourbon." I didn't understand any of that.
"So on the count of three, swallow the whole thing." I raise my brow.
"The whole thing? Is that safe." He giggles which makes me even more nervous.
I don't know anything, oh my god.
"Just follow me, you'll be fine." He flashes a pearly smile.
I'm not sure about that.
He counts down to one and we both chug down our shots. I felt the stinging pain in the back of my throat, god this is awful but it doesn't last long.
"I'll have two more!" He raises two fingers again and the bartender brings us two more shots.
"Tell me... um.."
"It's Joy" I smile kindly.
"Right, I knew that too. What do you want to be after college?" He downs his shot while I did the same, following him.
"I would like to be a fashion designer, but I'll stick with physical therapist." He frowns.
"Why say that? Did you design that outfit you have on? Because it's smoking."
Act normal, act normal.
"I think it goes well with your glasses." It felt nice to have someone compliment me.
He started making silly faces before I decide to speak up.
"It takes a lot to be in the fashion business. To go travel, or to have someone you can mentor that is big, I just can't have that." It was true, I have no one that would like to help or no way of getting my stuff out.
"You know what, it's gonna fucking happen one day! You just wait." I turn my neck to the side.
"You really think so?" Thats really nice of him.
After five shots, I can feel my mind go light and Joey is starting to come way more attractive. I can't handle all these compliments but Alley has a thing for him, I need to leave.
"I'm going to take off" I try to step down but end up tripping on him. I'm such an embarrassment.
"Wow, let me walk you home." I can't even think about it before I nod.
We walk out to the cool air, he has his arm linked to mine.
I've been on campus for a week and to a party and now a bar, I think this is good enough for me. I bet I'm going to pay for this tomorrow morning.
"You don't seem like a lot of girls around here." I turn to look at him.
"Is that good?" He nods.
"Very, people don't understand me a lot of the times because of my past but I think I'm a great guy." Everything's getting fuzzy as we make it to my dorm.
"Do you want to come in?" He thinks about it.
"Is that okay with you?" Actually, it's perfect.
I pull him in before planting my lips on his.
