No matter what I did, I could never please anyone, so this time it was about me. In big black letters the sticker said "All women are created equal, Then some become Marines!". I called the number on the bottom of the sticker then etered my area code, it lead me to the mall where i met my first Marine Corps recruitor. Sgt. Kaplan. He was so scary, but I never changed my mind. I went all through highschoold knowing what to expect in my near future. And then came graduation. Everything was moving so fast for me, it seemed like i was losing track of the days before i started a new adventure. The best choice i ever made. My leave date for basic training was nearing. two weeks. one week. three days. Well, bye guys im going to really miss you. Never gave my parent the goodbye i had always dreamed about, but i was already late to the airport and there was no way in Hell i was missing that flight. On the way to Parris Island, Missouri i had a lot to take in and think about, but i was never scared. My plane flew in about 3:30 A.M. and when i stepped off at the airport I met my first drill sgt. Sgt. Mathews. He got in my face and screamed louder than anything i had ever heard, it kinda remimded me of when my parets would always fight. But, anyways he yelled at us to get on the bus so he could drive us tothe military base. Apparently he had better things to do then be nice to thirty recruits who were going to be fighting to keep his country free. An hour later and we were arriving at Ft. Parris. And this is when it all began.
