Ravi and Lou called out names for mail, and as always Griff and I had nothing. "Hey since I never get any letters, can I - we go do anything else?" Griff sighed, and stood up.

I nodded my head along with Griff, feeling that feeling when no one likes you. "Hey! Here's something for you, Mr. and Mrs. 'Current Resident.'" Lou smiled, pulling out a phone book and handing it to us.

"Here you go Ravi." I mumbled and passed the book to Ravi. "Now you'll be able to see over the golf cart steering wheel." Griff added.

"Score!"

Griff and I sulked off towards my cabin and slipped down on my bed. "How come we never get mail?" I grumbled. Griff didn't awnser, but instead grabbed something off my bedside table.

"You still have these?" He awed. I sat up to see him holding the mason jar with the flowers he gave me at the Kikiwaka dance. After that day I added soil, and watered it frequently. "Yep." I said.

Griff set them back down and smiled. "We may not get mail but at least we have each other."

Griff and I sat at mail call once more, waiting to go play football or something other than this. Lou and Ravi both pulled out their last envelopes and smiled.

"Griff Jones and Ashlyn Ross." Lou called. Griff and I both stood up, making our way towards Lou. "Wha...really?!" Griff squeaked. Griff and I both grabbed our letters and ripped them open.

"How does it feel to get mail? No seriously, how does it feel, because I would not know." Ravi sniffed. I read my letter over and turns out it was a boy from Camp Champion who saw me.

"It's from a girl at Camp Champion, who saw me swimming in the lake. Her name is Erin." Griff explained. A girl? "Well. Mine is a boy from Camp Champion who saw me on the dock. His name is Jake." I sneered.

Griff rolled his eyes and Ravi came towards us. "Erin. A name with Gaelic origins, much like the name Griff." Ravi marveled. "Wow. Looks like you and Jake don't have much in common hm?" Griff hummed.

"And it says she spent time in juvie too!" Griff exclaimed. "What are the odds?" Lou smiled. "And look at that lovely handwriting! She must have taken an after-school calligraphy class."

"I'm going to write her back and tell her a bit about myself." Griff declared. "Ok. Well I'd better go reply to Jake." I hissed.

"Good idea. When you guys are done, give it to Ravi to mail for y'all. He's got a bunch of stamps lying around." Lou awnsered happily.

We talked a bit more, then made our way out of the mess hall. "So. When are we gonna tell them that Jake and Erin aren't real?" I asked Griff.

"Later. I wanna play a trick on them. It's sad I don't get mail, but not that depressing." He replied, chuckling softly.
