Chapter Seven

Melody POV

Monday Morning......

Oh I'm so nervous. I'm going into Collier Inc not as a visitor but as a worker not just a worker, the assistant of the boss! Not just a boss... An extremely handsome one. Could my life get any better?

I cleaned my wet hands on the pencil skirt... Lemme rephrase that. On the extremely tight pencil skirt Shannon had to pick out for me. I matched it up with my peach colored blouse, and then my black stilettos which gave me an appropriate height, compared to my 5'6. I looked elegant and professional, I think.

I smiled remembering when I came back with the news of my new job.....

I was humming the tone of "Pray for me" by Kendrick Lamar, happily. I pressed the pass code on I and Shannon's door and stepped in.
Oh I couldn't wait to share the news to Shannon.

I rushed to the room and took off my clothes, still humming happily.

After taking my bathe and slipping into a big comfy sweat shirt. I went to the kitchen and started preparing dinner.

I knew Shannon will soon be home so an idea came into my mind. I smirked evily...

Just when I'm about to switch off the gas, the front door opened. Shannon.

"Hey wifey! "She said excitedly coming towards the kitchen.

"Hey.... "Aww.. I'm gonna win an award of the best actress. My voice looked broken and frustrated.

Shannon sensed it and quickly rushed to my side as I placed the food on the table.

"You better don't give me that look! You got the job right? You have to... Come on let's go celebrate. "She said smiling, but that smile didn't reach her eyes. She's trying to think positively.

"I didn't get it.... I'm bound to be jobless. "I sighed shaking my head.
I sniffed... Oh gosh I even brought out tears . Now I'm an actress!!

Shannon shoulder slumped, she started shaking her head.
"I thought..... I thought you'd get this one..... Oh no what are we gonna do! Why do you have to suffer like this! Didn't he like you? Were you nervous that you didn't say anything? Whatever it's okay... Its fine we'll keep trying.... Don't you ever loose hope... I'm here for you okay... "

Now she was rambling.... Not the rambling part that made me forget the plan. But the tear that slip down her eyes. Oh geez... Shannon was more than a friend. She was now sobbing and rambling on. And Shannon do not cry easily!!

"Shannon! "I said trying to get her.

"It's fine ok? You're gonna be fine just don't forget that I'm here to always..... "

"I got the job! "I screamed.

"You're gonna be fine... Don't get delusional ok? "

What? Didn't she hear me?

"Sha I got the job I was just joking! "I said again.

That didn't stop her!

"You don't need to lie to me!"She held unto my shoulders, her eyes red from hot tears. What?
