Stop making the main character or characters of the story introduce themselves. For fucks sake.
Just stop.
No proper book has ever started with an opening line like:
Hi, my name is anotherblandgirl, I'm 16 years old, I have brown hair and green eyes and I'm currently trying to hide my lust towards my English professor. Blah blah blah.
The readers are not stupid. Let them gather up clues about the main character or characters of the story throughout the whole book.
Don't just info-dump everything at the beginning. Make the readers want to know more about the characters.
