People ran screaming as the spaceship settled onto Times Square. Some couldn't make it out from under the ship and were crushed, but most managed to. A ramp extended from the large saucer and a door slid open. Brandon and Charles emerged from the saucer, along with the deep-voiced alien.
Brandon and Charles's mics hooked up to the saucer's speaker systems, so their voices boomed when they started to speak.
"Earthlings!" Brandon said. "You might be wondering what this saucer is, and who these three remarkably looking gentlemen are.
"Yeah, kinda!" a voice shouted out from the crowd.
"You might also be wondering why people keep dying from a mysterious sickness," Charles said.
"Yeah, just a bit!" the same voice shouted.
"Well, wonder no longer, for we will tell you!" Brandon said.
"It is not a sickness," Charles started.
"but a poison," Brandon finished.
Gasps emerged from the crowd, and people started murmuring and whispering to each other.
"Silence!" the alien shouted. "Let them speak." All voices ceased at once, and the alien nodded towards Brandon and Charles.
"This race of aliens, the Exlima," Charles said, "had their planet destroyed by another, more violent race of aliens. They've been looking for a new home ever since, and have found Earth."
"But there is not enough room for all of us, and all of them," Brandon said. "So they took it upon themselves to imbue the world's supply of breadsticks with a poison only half of the world is susceptible to. The Exlima — this ship and the other ships currently orbiting Earth — will settle here now that half of the population is dead."
"In fact," Charles said, "some of the other ships have already started to land. Look it up." Members of the crowd pulled out their phones and went to their news apps. They were met with articles about the current speech and about the landing ships.
"Welcome," Brandon started,
"to the New Beginning!" Charles finished.
