"So, how did you find me?" Amy asks, holding my hands in hers

"Jayy and Dahvie looked stuff up and found my birth certificate before the adoption. Then we bought tickets and came to see you," I chuckle

"It's so amazing to see you so grown up," She looks down, a frown on her face, "I regret giving you up every single day," She meets my eyes again

"Why did you give me up?" My eyes fill with more tears, "Did you not love me?"

"No, baby, we've loved you every single day of our lives." She reassures, "We were too young, we were scared. We figured another family could raise you better than we ever could," She smiles, "And the Hamptons did that exactly,"

"I've been a fan of Evanescence for years. I just never thought..."

"I know." She laughs, "Would you like to meet your father?"

I nod eagerly, "Josh?" Amy says, looking at the back of the bus

A man appeared a few seconds later, smiling at Amy, "Yes love?"

"Josh, she found us," Amy said quietly

He looks at me, before gasping, "You're..."

"Hi dad," I jump to my feet, hugging him tightly as he throws his arms around me

"it's my little girl," He says, pulling away to look at me, "You look just like your mother,"

"I know, she's got your eyes though," Amy said, watching us fondly, "Essie, I know you'll never forgive us for giving you up, but we'd like to try to be a family," She says, looking at her booted feet

I sigh, "I do forigve you. And I'd love that,"

----

"It feels nice to have you back," Josh said while Amy took off her stage costume and makeup, "I never realized one day you might find us,"

"I've lived my whole life wondering who my parents are. Of course I was gonna figure it out." I laugh

"Amy was depressed for a while after giving you up. I was just as upset, but it tore her apart," Josh explained, looking sad

"I'm sorry." I mumble, taking his hand for comfort

"It's not your fault. She was living with the guilt of giving you up. She still hasn't forgiven herself for it. But now that you're here, I think she'll start to forgive herself." Josh smiles, "She's waited years for this moment."

"I have too. I just never expected my idols to be my parents," I laugh

"How's my two favourite people?" Amy asks, walking in with her makeup cleared, sporting sweats and a tank. Her hair is pulled back, out of her face.

"We're good mum,"

And for the first time in my life, I was truly happy.

I had my parents back.
