Before I begin this chapter, I want to regard the death of Leelah Alcorn.
It was not fair that we lost an angel because she didn't have supportive parents. Her parents still use the wrong pronouns with her, and it's sickening.
For those of you who don't know her story, Leelah was a transgender teen with religious parents who thought she was "sick in the head" and tried curing her. After years of torment and unacceptance, Leelah stepped out in front of a moving trailer-tractor and was killed.
Leelah just wanted support, and that's something we all want.
Her death will be remembered, and it will mean something. I hope her tragedy will open the eyes of parents who don't accept their children to grow up and accept the child they created. If you can't love your child unconditionally, you shouldn't be having kids. Simple as that.
My daughter will grow up in a very supportive household. She has me and her second mother to love her. My child will not succum to the same fate.
Rest in peace Leelah, we'll miss you.

"When do you know the gender?" Dahvie asked me, motioning to my belly
"I think we find out at the next appointment, I'm not too sure." I reply, popping a Skittle in my mouth
"I hope it's a boy," Jayy inquires, making me laugh
"It's a girl,"
"Boy!"
"Girl!"
"Shut it or you'll end up with twins," Dahvie jokes, shutting our traps
"Lord knows we don't need twins," I laugh, leaning back onto Jayy's stomach, "How's the album comin?"
"Pretty well. We plan to release it after the baby is born," Dahvie replies
"So in like...September?"
"Precisely."
"Have you even got a name for it?"
"Anthem of the Outcast," Jayy states, playing with my hair
"It'll be a hit like always," I smile, glancing up at Jayy, who kisses me
I'm hit with a wave of nauseousness, and I jump off the couch and run into the bathroom.
Fucking morning sickness.
----
"Hey you two!" Dr. Jones says when Jayy and I walk into his office
"Hi doctor," I smile, laying on the exam table
"How you feeling Ms. Hampton?" He asks, starting up the ultrasound monitor
"Pretty good. Morning sickness is starting to fade,"
"Any moodswings, cramping?"
"Nope," I reply, lifting my shirt
"Gonna be cold as always," He says, squirting the jelly onto my bare stomach, making me flinch
Jayy intertwines our fingers as he places the wand onto my stomach, moving the gel around. He presses down firmly against my belly, flicking a switch and loud thudding noise filling the quiet room.
"That is your heartbeat," He states, "And that small beat is your baby,"
Tears fill my eyes as I look at Jayy, who's watching with the biggest smile, "There's a baby in there,"
"Looks like it's developing well." he turns towards us, "Would you like to know the gender of your baby?"
"Yes," I state breathlessly
After a few more flicks, he smiles, "Congratulations, you're having a baby girl,"
"I knew it!" I squeal, crying
Jayy gasps, "A girl..."
"Congratulations." Dr. Jones says, wiping away the goo on my stomach
---
"We're having a baby girl!" I announce to my family, whom is sitting in our living room.
"YES!" Amy squeals, hugging me tight
"We're so happy for you two," Dahvie said after giving us hugs
"We're just as happy,"
That night, we announced to the world about our baby girl, and at this point, I couldn't be happier.
------
Hate to say it, but this story is close to ending.
