Kara's POV
----------
Lena was finally coming home to where she belonged. I was going to treat her right this time. No more mistakes. No more mess ups. She deserved only one thing: happiness.

Come morning, Alex gave us the all clear to let me take Lena home. She wanted to keep her in overnight, just to make sure her condition didn't suddenly worsen. Thankfully, it didn't!

It felt like déjà vu, having her in my arms again, as we soared through the sky. Considering everything that had just gone on, Lena looked so bright and perky. Flying is a magical feeling that is hard to describe. The wind in your hair is refreshing, and the views from up above are so breathtaking. An experience like this, must've made Lena feel a lot better, and it instantly showed.

As I held her, she turned to look at me. Lena seemed so smitten. She had a dreamy look in her eyes, as if she was fantasising about me. I wish I could read minds... I wanted to know what she was thinking of.

"Kara..." she spoke softly, still dreary from the anaesthetic.

"What is it sweetheart?" I questioned.

"I love you... so much..."

Her head dropped back into my arms. Poor Lena was so tired. I couldn't wait to tuck her up into my bed and let her sleep the day away. Although she was resting, the smile was never lost from her face. She sounded exhausted when she spoke, her body felt limp in my arms, but her face looked so joyful and happy.

"I love you just as much, Lena Luthor."

My words made her smile grow larger. Out from her mouth, came a tiny giggle. I could tell that Lena struggled to find her words. But, she was making an effort for me, and that made me really happy!

"We're almost there, Lena. Just hold on a bit longer."

Before I knew it, we were at my window. I never lock it, that way I can open it easily. On a top floor apartment, it's not like anyone will break in through my window. I managed to open it, with Lena still in my arms. I manoeuvred both of us through, then shut it behind me.

"Home sweet home!" I said.

I carried Lena over to my bed, and sat her down on the right side. Pulling the sheets back, I suddenly remembered... The last time we were both in here was when we... had sex...

"No Kara. Don't think like that." I thought to myself.

I prepared the bed for Lena by fluffing up the pillows and straightening the sheets. I picked her up, and laid her down on the bed, making sure to tuck her in, nice and cozy. The winter months make my apartment quite chilly, and I didn't want Lena to be cold. She deserved to be treated right.

"Kara..." she groaned.

"Yes?"

"Hugo... Do you still have him?"

Hugo is the name that Lena gave to her stuffed tiger. He's actually a hot water bottle. I'm surprised I didn't think of him sooner! Hugo is the perfect remedy for a cold winters morning. Lena gifted him to me a while ago, when I was sick once. Admittedly, I've only used Hugo once or twice, and since, I've just had him packed away in a closet.

"I think he's just down here!" I said, pulling open a drawer.

There he was, bundled up in some of my clothes.

"Guess who I found!" I chimed.

Looking back at Lena, I could see her grin getting bigger.

"Hugo! Hugo!" she cheered, like a little child.

"I'll go fill him up for you. I won't be long."

Reluctant to leave Lena, I walked over to the kitchen. As I reached out to grab a pan, I noticed the colour of my arms. The sleeves were blue. I was still dressed as Supergirl! In the haste of trying to get Lena sorted, I completely forgot to change my clothes. We both could've done with getting changed in all fairness. When Lena was feeling better, I'd help get her into some clean pyjamas. We could spend today, having a lazy day in bed. I think she'd appreciate that.

I filled the pan with water, and lit the stove. I left it there to boil, so that it was nice and hot for Lena. I also got out a soup can, and prepared a simple chicken and mushroom soup for Lena to eat. I was hungry too, but she was my first priority right now.

Grabbing a wooden tray, I plated up the bowl of soup. I folded up a napkin, and placed it next to the bowl. Out from the toaster, popped up two slices of bread. I figured Lena could dip the toast into her soup, if she wanted. It would make the meal a bit more filling. Just as her breakfast was ready, the water had finished boiling.

I pulled the water bottle out from the back of Hugo, and poured the boiling water inside. It was a delicate task. Pouring water isn't easy, especially if it's scolding hot. But I did it, and put the bottle back inside Hugo. I gave him a tight squeeze. Perfect!

"Coming!!" I exclaimed to Lena.

Hugo was resting on the side of the tray of food. I brought it in to Lena, and she seemed really appreciative of my extra efforts.

"Kara! You didn't have to bring me food!"

"Of course I did! You haven't eaten in a while. It might make you feel better. And if it means getting you better, I'll do anything."

The tray rested nicely on Lena's lap. I took Hugo off and sat him next to Lena. I watched as she attempted to move her arms, but her body was still frail. The smile wiped clean off her face and turned to a look of sorrow.

"Kara... I can't even lift my arms..." she sulked, with tears welling up in her eyes.

Eventually, Lena would be able to move her right arm. Her left arm might be another story. She injured herself pretty bad. It would heal, but not any time soon, that's for sure. I could tell that it was still extremely sore for her, and I was upset that there was nothing I could do to help.

I liked hearing Lena talk, but her voice was wheezy. That too, was an indication that she was in serious pain. I'm just thankful that she didn't puncture a lung with the glass shard. Luckily, she missed all of her vital organs. That didn't stop it from hurting though. Thankfully, Alex patched my baby up well. I owe everything to my sister. If it weren't for her, Lena might not have been alive...

"Here, let me help you."

I walked around the bed, and got under the covers with Lena. I helped to spoon feed her the soup. She was like a little, helpless baby, and it was so adorable!

"You'll be okay darling. I promise you that. I'm here for you now."

I paused, to kiss her forehead.

"I love you Lena..."
