Chapter Eight - Meeting

        Bella was coming. Bella was coming to the house, the Cullen's house. Everyone was nervous, even Rose, though she played it off like she was only annoyed and pissed. Esme, Carlisle and Emmett had been trying to make her some dinner, wanting to be polite. Alice had taken Jasper out to hunt, hoping it would help with his thirst control. Alison was told to stay besides Emmett knowing how nervous she was and the fact that she was still new to this, she might not have complete control. However, Carlisle had faith since she has been doing so well with school, they were all proud of her.

"How do we even know she likes Italian?" Rose questioned holding a bowl for Esme to put the salad in.

"Well her name is Bella" Emmett said with a shrug making Alison smile just a little bit. She was focusing so hard on not messing up. She knew this was important to Edward, even though she thought he shouldn't get involved but it was too late. So instead of hating Bella, like Rose, she was just going to hop on the band wagon. It wasn't long until Edward walked in with a nervous human besides him. Subconsciously, Alison turned invisible. She didn't notice but being so nervous she couldn't help but to hide, it was her natural instinct.

"Bella, we're making Italiano for you" Esme said excitedly.

"This is Esme, my mother for all intents and purposes" Edward introduced to Bella.

"Bon giorno?" Bella asked testing out her Italian.

"Molto bene" Esme said smiling in approval.

"You've given us an excuse to use the kitchen for the first time" Carlisle said with a smile on his face.

"I hope you're hungry" Esme said.

"Oh, absolutely" Bella said with a forced smile looking even more nervous.

"She already ate" Edward said clearly annoyed with his family. A few seconds later the bowl Rose was holding shatters and she crosses her arms looking furious.

"Perfect" She snapped glaring at Rose. Emmett sighed as he stopped making food and went to go to his wife when he noticed Alison was missing. He looked around wondering where he had gone.

"I just assumed-- because you don't eat, you know" Bella said trying not to sound rude.

"Of course, that was very considerate of you" Esme said.

"Ignore her, I do" Edward said as Emmett walked to his wife figuring Alison had just left.

"Yes, let's keep pretending this isn't dangerous for all of us" Rose snapped not amused by her brother.

"I would never, ever tell anyone" Bella said quickly, wanting to reassure everyone.

"She knows that" Carlisle told her calmly.

"The problem is, you two have gone public now, so-" Emmett added backing his wife up in a nicer manner.

"Emmett" Esme said and he stopped talking.

"No, she should know" Rose said not easily backing down. "The entire family will be implicated if this ends badly"

"Badly?" Bella questioned softly. "Like where I become the meal" Bella said thinking that's what Rose meant. The Cullen's couldn't help but to smile at her innocents, even Rose. It lightened the air enough to where Alison become visible again scaring the life out of Bella.

"I'm sorry, i didn't mean to scare you" She said quickly.

"No, no, it's fine" Bella said feeling bad for making her feel bad.

"That's Alison, she's the youngest of us" Edward said with a smile. Alison smiled and gave a little wave but stayed where she was.

"Hi, Bella" Alice said coming into the kitchen with Jasper behind her. Alice didn't hesitate to pull her into a hug. "I'm Alice... You do smell good" She said pulling away.

"Alice" Edward whined knowing that his sister was weird.

"It's alright, Bella and I are going to be great friends" She said before taking her place besides Jasper.

"Pleasure to meet you" Jasper said looking like he was having a harder time than Alison with his thirst.

"It's alright, Jasper... you won't hurt her" Alice said putting her hand on his chest. Edward rolls his eyes at how weird and awkward they were being around Bella.

"Come on, Bella, I'll show you around" He said wanting to get away from them as quickly as possible. They walked out of the kitchen and up the steps. Bella stops and looks at the large frame.

"Graduation caps?" Bella questioned looking at Edward.

"A private joke. We matriculate a lot" Edward explained.

"There's only, 5, shouldn't there be six rows?" Bella asked looking at Edward.

"This is the first year Alison is going to school with us." Edward explained to her. "She had a lot of difficulties with her thirst but she's a lot better now. When she graduates from Forks, it'll be her first graduation."

"She didn't get one when she was human?" She asked looking at Edward. Edward motioned for Bella to walk up the steps before talking lowly to Bella.

"Alison wasn't turned by Carlisle. She was murdered a few months before graduation in 1970. Alice had a vision of her and went to find her. When her and Jasper found her she had just woken up a newborn, a new vampire" He explained.

"So, someone just made her a vampire and left?" She asked and Edward nodded.

"Carlisle thinks she wasn't meant to become a vampire, maybe she was just another meal to someone but got spooked off before she could die. It was long enough for the venom to spread and change her into a vampire. Once Alice found her she turned Invisible. She's been working on that as well but she was very nervous meeting you today, that's why she just appeared out of nowhere."

"She was there all along" Bella realized and Edward nodded.

"She's very nice, I'm sure you'll like her. She has this gift of getting even the worst kinds of people to like her" He said with bitterness in his voice. Bella didn't question it.
