// AntVenom POV //
My palms were sweaty with panic. I wiped them down my jeans, eyes darting side-to-side. What did I do to deserve this? Nothing. I'd tried my best to do the right thing whenever the opportunity arose. Notch save me from this, I begged to myself, straining against the glass. Then, something caught my eye.
I turned to my left. Wasn't that... CaptainSparklez? Yes, I'd heard of him. I stuck mostly with Adam and the Team Crafted gang, but I'd occasionally seen him with some others I recognised. Adam seemed friendly with him, but there was something about him that made me nervous. This guy didn't seem to show his emotions. Was he scared? I pressed against the glass, looking closely at him. He didn't look scared at all! So calm and collected... How I envied him. There was something else, though. The way that he had his head tilted to the side as if in deep thought, an elbow leaning casually against the glass. Jeez, you'd think this guy did this every day. I lent a little closer, my eyes now planted flat on the glass wall that seperated my from the outside. What made him so special? I couldn't quite tell. I just knew he was different.
Suddenly, his gaze turned to meet mine. His eyes were a pale blue above his glasses. They matched the sky. A shiver ran down my spine, and I pulled my eyes away instantly. He was definitely different. I was certain of it now. I could tell he was still looking at me. I prayed to Notch I didn't encounter Sparklez through this game. Let someone else pick me off, I thought. Just keep him away from me.
Click.
My eyes widened. "Shit!" I hissed to myself, feeling myself tense up. The glass was gone. People were running for the center. Hands snatched weapons mercilessly. I took one glance at Sparklez. He was looting the center. Crazy guy. I turned, making a desperate run for it. Maybe I could hide myself so deep in the forest that nobody would find me for a little while. But how long will it last?
The trees gaped in front of me, wooden pillars that swallowed me whole as I ran into their depths. My hair whipped me in the face as I ran, and I could constantly hear my panting. Just keep going. Only a little more.
The trees opened to reveal a small pond. It was well enclosed. Reeds surrounded it, brushing softly together in the wind. I allowed myself to catch my breath, running fingers through my mat of hair. I crouched by the pond and cupped my hands. Leaning down, I scooped up the water and drank. I adored the cool taste of fresh water down my throat. I knew that, unless I chose to stay here, this would be my last drink for a while.
Some of the surrounding trees were quite large. One was covered in glistening red fruit. My heart soared. Apples! I approached the tree cautiously, unsure of how to climb it. The bark was rough, and my attempts to grip it just sent me away with grazed palms.
"The hell..." I mumbled to myself, eyeing up the tree. A branch stuck out further than the rest. I leaped and took a swing. My arm hooked itself around the branch, and I managed to pull myself up. There was a neat little dip in the tree where all the branches snaked out from. I sat down, breathing out slowly. Maybe I could last a little longer than I'd originally thought. I plucked an apple from the branch above, and dug my teeth into it. The sweet taste made me relax completely into my seat. It was all gonna be okay.
It's all gonna be okay.
