Song: Good Girls by 5 Seconds of Summer

"Oh really?" He looks at me with a smirk. Is that a permanent look for him?

I stutter, "I didn't mean it like that so you can wipe that smirk off your face." My phone vibrates for the millionth time in my pocket.

"You might want to answer that," he says pointing to my pocket.

"Don't tell me what to do," I say before grabbing my phone and answering it automatically hearing Benny's voice.

I look over at Ashton before replying to Benny's demands for me to come join the party. "Yes Benny. Trust me I want to be at your party. I could really use a drink right now. But I have to finish this stupid dinner with my dad's coworker and his family."

Ashton is focused on me which makes me uncomfortable, "Benny I'll try to get there as soon as I can. Okay?"

She replies telling me to hurry up before I hangup and throw my phone back into my pocket.

"So. Is Benny your boyfriend?" Ashton asks which instantly makes me laugh.

"God no. Benny is my best friend. And Benny's a girl," I reply looking at him who has taken a seat in the grass.

I take a seat beside him making sure not to sit too close. I look up at the sky and it's starting to get dark showing a few stars.

"You moved from Australia?" I ask looking over at him although it's quite obvious due to his accent.

"What makes you say that?" he asks sarcastically.

"You look funny," I say returning the sarcasm.

"Are you saying all Australians look funny?" he asks in a serious tone.

"Not all of you. Just most. Although last summer I met this one Australian and he was hot," I reply remembering the guy from vacation with blonde hair and a lip ring.

We both sit in silence for awhile looking up at the stars beginning to show themselves, every once in awhile sneaking a few glances at each other.

"Let's go in so we can eat dessert and I can get the fuck away from this place," I say while brushing my palms against my jeans.

"Okay, Ms. Bossy," he says chuckling while standing up.

When we enter the house our parents are already seated with desserts spread across the table. I can spot ice cream, strawberry shortcake, brownies, cupcakes, and some pudding. My mother is a very good cook, it's one of her many hobbies.

"We figured you wouldn't mind if we started without you guys. We figured you guys were getting to know each other," my mother says while pouring herself a glass of wine.

"Oh thank you Mrs. Perski. Elizabeth and I have done quite the bonding," he says in a fake polite voice which makes me want to strangle him. Mostly because once again he emphasizes Elizabeth. He can clearly tell that I don't like it and it appears that he is going to use it to his advantage.

"Yes mother, Ash and I decided we are getting married. I guess you could say we fell in love at first sight," I say sarcastically mocking Ashton's voice and give him a smirk while his cheeks turn red. My mother grumbles but the rest of the table laughs at us before continuing on with the conversation they were having before we interrupted. I grab a brownie and eat it before grabbing another one and stuffing it into my mouth as well. I look at my phone and it shows that it is already 9:23 and I begin to wonder how long the Irwin's will stay for.

I look over at my father who is leaning back in his chair drinking a beer. "Hey Dad, I was wondering if I could maybe go to a party now?" I ask giving my best puppy dog eyes I can manage. I purposely waited until my mother left the room so I could ask my dad. My father was always the one to say yes.

"Who's party is it?" he asks while taking another sip of beer.

"Benny's. She has been begging me all night to come," I say glancing out towards the patio where Anne and my mother are seated talking and drinking wine.

"Yeah. Don't stay out too late and no drinking," he says. Although of course I'm going to drink. What's a party without a little drink? I get up and begin to walk away when my father's voice brings me to a halt, "You should take Ashton with you. Maybe introduce him to a few people."

I look over at Ashton who is smirking and the urge to strangle him reappears. Why does he always smirk? I look back at my father with eyes the plead for him to stop. "Oh. And before I leave tomorrow for work I'll remember to leave the card for you on the kitchen counter," he says casually making the subtle hint that he'll pay me to take Ashton with me. Of course the guests aren't aware to the proposal they probably just think that it's an everyday thing.

I grumble before turning to Ashton, "C'mon. I have to go grab some things from my room and then we'll leave."

He perks up and pushes his chair in before following me up the stairs while I text Benny that I'll be there and I'm bringing a guest.

I open my door and shuffle to my closet and grab my black leather purse and a pair of black skinny jeans with my combat boots. I walk back into my room to see Ashton sitting on my bed looking down at his phone.

"I'm just gonna go change and then we can head out," I say while walking into my bathroom without waiting for a response.

I begin to pull on the black jeans when I hear Ashton say, "Pink walls? Pink is for good girls."

I walk out of my bathroom and towards the bed. I purposely lean over Ashton's body grazing his shoulder with my boob while my hair tickles his ear in order to get the socks that are behind him. I retrieve them and as I come back up I whisper in his ear, "Who said I was a good girl?"
