• basic history •
sonny's life wasn't as bright as his name suggested, though he always says it could have been worse. his childhood wasn't all that terrible at first, and he has plenty of really good memories with his siblings. but when he was nine his parents separated and a year later officially were divorced. sonny was quickly molded into becoming a rebellious, loud mouth teenager who did everything he could to make his mother and father know how upset he was that they couldn't keep it together for him and his sibling's sakes. it didn't make sense to him and he didn't want to bother to try and figure it out. things only got worse when his mom got a boyfriend, steven. a boyfriend who she adored and her children hated with a burning passion. it didn't help when this boyfriend started getting creepy with the kids, particularly with sonny who was vulnerable and unable to go to his mother or father with any of his real problems. he doesn't like to get into the relationship he had with steven as a sixteen year old and though he later discussed it with his sister no one really knows what happened for sure. thankfully, his mother broke it off with the man two years later after sonny graduated highschool and moved away. it's a touchy subject, and it made him pretty unpleasant as a kid. but getting away and perusing his dream cleansed him, and now he's significantly nicer as a person. but maybe don't bring up his teenage years.
