cecil would never say he was ignored as a child, but that would solely be to spare anyones sour thoughts towards his parents. in reality he was a little ignored and starved of a lot of basic attention from the people he cared for. he came from a pretty well off family, with parents that worked a lot and had enough money to be able to give cecil a nanny or simply tell him they were busy. he justified it as a kid, convinced that they still cared for him even though he'd heard the way his mother would complain about his existence to her friends. he didn't understand that their annoyance of him stemmed from the fact they'd wanted a girl. it was why his name was feminine and why he could never be good enough for his mother and father. when they finally got a girl cecil was even more forgotten, though he certainly wasn't treated as badly. they had their girl now, so it was easier to deal with their son. unfortunately the damage had already been done, and cecil had been shaped into someone that felt like he constantly needed to fight for affection and would justify anything in order to keep the love that he did receive. he made himself look more girlish and accepted his name. and life wasn't so bad until he found his current boyfriend, tyler. it was a long term, off and on relationship that was far from healthy. it started well, but as time went on tyler was caught flirting with other people, calling cecil names and constantly throwing the blame for his actions. and it's pretty obvious by the way he constantly has his hands on cecil that the small boy is really just an easy way to 'blow off steam'. but tyler pulls through at times and cecil is willing to put up with all of it in order to get those sweet nothings and affirmation from someone he likes. He even moved in to tyler's apartment where his parents are still convinced that they're just 'roommates'.
