The bell rang as the door flung open to the bookshop. Phoenix's head swung round in unison with Ocean's. A boy all in black walked in. They noticed he had a few piercings, one on his nose and one through his eyebrow. Phoenix had never seen this boy before not even at school. Ocean hadn't either. They looked at each other, shrugged and went back to sorting books. A few minutes later the bell on the counter rang. It was him again. Phoenix quickly walked over to him. "So how's your lovely Saturday?" she asked. She had learnt from her dad that it is best to try to make small talk with the customer and always stay calm. "Well it's not very lovely right now," he replied. She had also learnt to always sympathise with customers. "Oh that sounds terrible I hope it gets better or you have a fine Sunday," she answered putting his books in a bag, "Well have a nice day!" The boy stormed out slamming the door making some of the book piles fall over. Ocean ran over to pick them up and Phoenix went over to help. "Well, bookshop he didn't seem nice!" Ocean exclaimed.
"Nah. It's ok. He's just having a bad day." Phoenix justified.
Some bookshops packed to the brim but today wasn't one of those days. The shop was so deserted that they had to close up early because it was so boring they couldn't take it anymore. Luckily tomorrow they had a day off so they can do whatever they wanted.
As night fell Phoenix's mind was more restless than ever. She usually had trouble getting to sleep but this time was different. Something was stabbing at her mind. Something different. Finally, her eyelids drifted down and closed.
Run! Run Phoenix! Pictures whizzed past her as she sped down this infinite hallway. There was no escape this being. This thing it was there and there to stay. There were shattered mirrors and broken furniture everywhere. She trod on a shard of glass and screamed as it pierced her skin. At that moment she realised she was bare foot but she couldn't stop running. She Flashed her head around to try and see what's there but saw nothing. For some reason she just couldn't stop running because deep down she knew something would happen if she did. Finally, the pain got too much and she collapsed. She felt the wind creeping down her neck. She looked around but nothing and no-one was there. The mysterious wind gnawed at her arms and legs. "Who's there!" She called out, you could hear her voice quiver as she shouted. Suddenly, a shadow came sprinting towards her and BANG!
