*??? POV*
When is the rain going to stop? Where is my boyfriend? Where am I? I need medical attention, my lip is bleeding, and I can barely move my left arm. "Help!" I called out. "Help me, please! I need help! I need to find a-"
Leaves crunching could be heard to my left, along with some shouting. "The Slenderman is real?!"
"Yes, He is." A much deeper voice said back.
Slenderman? Who the hell is Slenderman? In my confusion, I didn't notice when three men stared up at my 6' frame.
"OH MY GOD! Shane Dawson! Like, the famous actor? Yes! You are amazing!" One of them, the youngest, started fangirling.
"Who?" The other two asked simultaneously.
"The Mind of series? The conspiracy power hour? Shane and friends? Have you been living under a rock?" The boy spewed out.
"I have no T.V., remember, Felix?" One of them, one with a pink mustache, addressed the young boy.
If the boy-Felix-was fazed by the sugarcoated rebuke, he didn't show it. He instead ranted about how he had friends struggling with their sexuality, and after he showed them my interviews and social media posts, he finally came out. Now, they both love my work. And my books.
"Oh, why thank you." I said.
"Wait! Can't he walk with us? Please? Oh pretty please?" Felix asked.
The one with the pink mustache looked over at the one with the demon-like look. "Should we, Dark?"
The other one-Dark-looked at Pink Mustache. "I think so, Wilford."
"Yes! You guys are the best!" Felix shouted in glee.
Felix, Wilford, and Dark. What a weird bunch. Oh well. I have to have somebody to walk with, I thought, I might as well try to make conversation.
Talking with Felix(and to an extent Wilford) was easy and pleasant. They were friendly, and we were all weird in our own rights. Talking with Dark, however, was a whole different story.
He either bluntly answered my questions as yes or no, if he even answered at all, or subtly threatened me. When the person is a self-proclaimed "demon" and makes threats like, "I will boil your teeth" and "I will see with your spine," it's a little unsettling.
"Oh, don't mind him." Felix told me. "He has a resting bitch face and all, but he's a real sweetie."
"Will you shut up, you ninnyhammer." Dark said.
"What the hell?! What the fu-bwahahah!" Felix started, then burst out laughing.
"It means a weak, foolish man. Kind of like you, Felix." Wilford said.
"But Shane-Mr. Dawson-can I talk to you, like, seriously?" Felix asked, face void of his previous amusement.
Although I was worried, my mind made the decision for me. "Of course, anything."
"I mean, it is really personal, I know you might not want to..."
This sparked my interest. "I'll answer to the best of my abilities."
Motioning for the other two to go ahead, he turned to me. "You're just so...flamboyant. Exuberant. Even though..." Felix broke off for a breath, then continued. "Even though all that happened to you. How do you get through it? Why did you get through it?" I don't think he noticed he was crying. I don't think I even noticed I was crying until I felt the water in my eyes and wiped it off of my cheeks. I knew what he was talking about. I had a sense I did even before he said it.
"I..." I was at a loss for words at Felix's sad, hopeful smile. "I-it's just different for everybody else, I guess. You just have to be strong. Whether that's by yourself or others, you can do it. When...that happened, I was overpowered, weakened, abused, like I'm sure you were. I'm not gonna just say, "get over it," because that's pretty much impossible, but you can always go to therapy, or, like me, realize the greatest strength comes from yourself. They weren't molested, you were."
Relief filled Felix's eyes in the form of tears. He tried to open his mouth, but no words came out. The eyes were the window to the soul, as a wise person once said, and the broken boy in front of me was no different.
Looking down, my heart stopped.Ooohhhh! I'm extremely sorry for the long wait! I'm making, like, 5 fanfictions right now, so...anyways, stay safe!
