Chapter 22: Today Show: Live from Rockafeller Plaza

Courtney's P.o.V:

"Welcome to TODAY! Live From Rockafeller Plaza!!!!" The deep anouncer voice yelled, just as we had gotten situated in our seats. Each guy was sitting next to their girlfriend. Today, on TODAY they were all anouncing our relationships. I was excited and nervouse. This was just about the biggest national News programe in the country. I was on every morning at my house growing up. I screamed and danced in front of the t.v, everytime Taylor Swift was on here, Niki Minaj, and even the first time the guys were on here. At that point, they were all single, not any more. The boys's manager, who also did a little bit for me concidering I was performing with them now, was talking to Matt Lauer about the kinds of things we could answer. Finally he sat down, shaking hands with each of us.

"You guys ready?" He asked, specifically to the girls and I.

"I sure hope so." I said nodding and smiling. The others nodded in agreement. He nodded and looked at the cameraman, who signaled 3, 2, 1, and pointed as the 'Live' sign popped on. Matt smiled and did his intro.

"And here they are, the men, and women, of the hour! Welcome guys!" He said going into his first question. Tia and Summer waved like idots into the camera. "Okay, so not as to confuse people, we should probably get this one out of the way. Who's in a realationship?" Harry, Liam, Niall, Zayn, and Louis, so all of them raised their hands. "Okay,wow. Their are some hearts breaking in the audiances!" Matt said laughing. "Could you boys tell us which is your girl, I'm assuming these girls,are them, and girls could you tell us a bit about yourselves?" We all nodded and Liam went first.

"This beautiful lass, Is my girlfriend, Summer Messer." Liam said, making Summer blush a bit.

"Hi!" She waved at the screan, "I'm summer, and I was a Varsity cheerleader, and I plan on going to Princeton in October." She smiles widely. The others did theirs, and finally it was mine and Niall's turn.

"And lastly, blondie here, is MY girlfriend, Courtney Lucas." I playfully swatted him for the blondie thing.

"Hello! My name is Courtney, you knew that because the OTHER blondie, "I looked at Niall, and the others laughed, "introduced me. ANYWAYS, I graduated Valedictorin, I was a Varsity Cheerleader, and I plan on going to Harvard, to become an attorny, in November." I smiled hugley.

"So where are you girls from?" He asked. Tia spoke up.

"We are from a small town, Mansfield, Ohio." Tia waited for the next question, as we nodded in agreement.

"Never been their. Boys, where do you plan on going next on your big tour?" He asked the guys.

"We play at Madison Square Garden, in a day or so, then we plan on playing the Air Canada Center, then it's off to Dubland!" Niall said excitedly.

"We are all verry excited for Niall to get to go home for a wee bit, but I will be happy to see my family again." Zayn said ecitdedly.

"AW!" Louis yelled patting Zayn on the shoulder affectionatly, "The Bradford bad-boy misses home!"

We all laughed and Zayn put his head in his hands, "I don't even say that any more!" He cried dramatically.

Soon, It was time for mine and Niall's interview about my singing. Niall had said that he had a suprise for me, that he was going to announce live. I was nervouse again. After commercial, the others headed backstage. The crew cleared the seats, replacing them with a small blue love seat. Niall and I sat verry close on the couch. We intertwined our fingers, and he was trying to calm me down. The traced circles in my palm with his thumb. Finally, we lookes up as the live sign came on, and our interview started.

"Welcome back! We are live with Niall Horan, and Courtney Lucas!" Ann Curry, the interviewer, said smiling at us.

"So Courtney, what's it like, singing for the first time live, at a Taylor Swift concert, and the video going Viral on YouTube?" She asked. My eyes got wide, and I had a huge grin. I had No clue Niall had posted that on youtube!

"Amazing actually! I diddn't even know that it was on YouTube!" I said. Ann looked suprised and Niall just winked at me. "The video was actually taken on our first date. Some how he knew that I was a big fan of her's, annd took me to a concert at the Ohio state fair!" I blushed and leaned my head on Niall's shoulder, as Ann asked the next question.

"So, I've noticed that, knowing your a Taylor Swift fan, your clothing style," she gestures to my outfit, "And musical styles seam to be similar. Do you plan on singing country music, if you get a recording contract?"

"Yes, it's the kind of music I grew up to. I would listen to Brooks n Dunn, Suger Land, Kid Rock, Taylor Swift, and Carrie Underwood, quite a lot when I was younger. I still do. But even if I do get a record deal, I AM going to Harvard. I want to get my law degree." I smiled, she looked suprised when I said that I'd still want to go to college.

"Well that's refreshing," She smiled, "Niall, you said that you had an announcement to make?"

I looked at him curiously. "Well, Courtney," He said turning to stare into my eyes, "Simon watched the video. He said that he's willing and excited to sign you, as his first country artist, as long as you perform for him while he's here checking up on us." My eyes got wide as I stared at him in dispelief for a seccond, then I practically tackled him in a tight hug.

"OH MY GOSH ARE YOU SERIOUS?" I screamed as he noddded. Ann was giggling a bit and I remembered where we were, and calmed myself down to a HUGE smile that was platered on my face. I could see the others out of the corrner of my eye freeking out. I guess he hadn't told them either.

"Well it's a proud day for Courtney, and her hometown of Mansfield, Ohio! Congratulations!" She said to me before the camera tuned on her solo. "Next, a performance on the plaza from the one and onle, ONE DIRECTION!" She smiled as it cut to commercial. She hugged us both, and we headed back stage of their performance. The guys all hugged me, I quickly kissed Niall, and they headed on stage. We had decided to stay backstage for this one, because I was so hyped up, and we were going to see them at Madison Square Gardens, the day after tomarrow any ways. The girls literally tackled me, and were jumping for joy. My phone began ringing off the hook. I got phone calls from all of my family who watched the show. Cameron called me screaming somthing about screaming gummy bears that sing. The guys sang beautiful as per usuall. At one point I got another txt from an unknown number. I opened it cautiously.

so you got a wittle record deal? tht wnt matter once we r dn wiff u. btw dnt tell any one about these messages, or lets just say you wont lik d concicences. deal? Watch your back, b*tch

Ok so now I was scarred. Who could be sending this stuff to me? I tryed to be nice to everybody! The area code belonged to Mansfield, so it had to be some one I knew. Who hated me? Adem, for sure hated me, Renae, Brook (a girl I battled with in grade school) but I haddn't seen her in years. It had to be Adem or Renae. But I diddn't think they'd do something this terrable. Out of the corrner of my eye, I could've sworn I saw Renae turn and leave the building. No it couldn't be them. It was probably just someone who looked A LOT like her. It couldn't be them, could it?
