"Always leave a light on. Because when you don't the Girl in the dark will come after you. It was on the news, she died because she was exposed to a ray of light that was too bright, and could kill anyone who touched it. Now, legends say that if you leave the lights on your safe from her haunting." Kelley finished reading the article.
"Hmph," Nick knew that this stuff was just to scare people, he knew that none of it was real.
"C'mon! You have to believe at least one of these paranormal things!" Masie was trying to shake nick into some of this stuff.
"Yea! Look at Kai, he is hugging his knees in the corner. He believes ALL of it," Kelley looked over at Kai scared to death while the rest of them were laughing.
"Kai, all of the lights are on, but... if we were to turn them off," Masie said, slowly making her way to the light switch.
Kai instantly stood up "NOOOOOO! STOP!!" He yelled. The rest of them laughed.
"Your such a scaredy cat," Nick teased.
"No, I just believe in this stuff and I don't want to anger anything evil!" Kai protested.
Then Kai heard a click. The room faded into black. "GUYS! STOP! You're NOT FUNNY!" There was no response.
"Hello?!" Kai heard a slight creaking sound. It sounded like someone was scratching the floor. Kai dug around in his pocket for his phone, he lucky found it and snatched out of his jean pocket, he flipped on the flashlight. She shone it around the room. Kai could swear he just saw a shadow disappear the moment he shone the beam of light at it. He knew that there was such a thing as The Girl in The Dark. Everyone else were fools for not believing it. He was the smart one. More creaking. Then he heard Nick's high pitch scream. It was a prank, he knew it. There was no shadow. He was a fool for being scared when it was just a dumb prank. He really was a scaredy cat. Kai turned off his flashlight and walked over to the light switch. He was angry. He flicked it on. He turned around and what he saw shocked him. All of his friends were lying in puddles of blood, bloody scratches leaving tears in their clothes. She was real. Then the lights flickered off.
