On a large island somewhere in the Atlantic ocean, there was a thriving town known as Featherlight. The island was home to thousands of sailors and often had guests who stumbled upon the island. Every person who goes there is sworn to keep the location of the island a secret, and so it remains hidden. The island is also home to a curious boy who happens to set his eye on a mysterious hanglider riding the wind. Most of the islands inhabitants know about the hanglider, but none knows who is piloting it, or why they do so every day. So the boy sets out to the lighthouse the hanglider comes from in the morning, determined to find the pilot.Revisioned main character ideas:

•In the cover the background photo is of a man dangling from a hang glider, this foreshadows a certain part to come.•The title does not refer to the pilot taking off. It does however, refer to a "breaking free" type of idea.
•Jay's last name means "Strong Sea" while Skylars last name means "Strong wind."
•On the cover, there is a girl falling, and a boy staring at the sky. I wonder why.
•There also seems to be an eagle flying with the hang glider. maybe it's a pet?
•the original cover has wings behind a boy holding up a flag, maybe this alludes to something the author originally had in mind.
•the title of the original work goes back to the idea of "breaking free."
