You wiped the sleep out of your eyes, slowly (and wearily) making your way to the kitchen. Once there, you looked around your pantry and fridge, wondering what you felt like eating this morning until an idea clicked in your head. You grabbed the milk and eggs out of the cold, oversized box sitting in front of you before going to look for the other ingredients you needed.

"Oh, someone's using their cooking skills this morning?" An annoying voice you learnt to deal with said before making himself seen, a small but genuine smile on his face. What's he smiling about this morning? "Can I help?"

"Why would you want to help? You'll probably screw up the pancakes on purpose." You shot back, your voice still hoarse from the lack of use.

"Ouch, that sort of hurts." He started, a small, almost unnoticeable glint of pain in his eyes. "Don't you trust me yet?"

"You're basically a demon. Isn't being unreliable kind of your thing?" You snapped, turning your back to him to start the food-making process. It was too early in the morning to deal with him. You'd need at least one cup of coffee.

"You really hurt me sometimes, (Y/N)."

Damn, he's good with acting. You thought as you tried to show as little interest as possible. You just really didn't like to be reminded that there was a sex demon on your ass, simply waiting for you to show a sign of weakness so he could pounce on you and steal something you intended on saving for a little while.

"Please? Let me feel human, I'm begging you!" Tooru whined, making you wince. His begging was way too inappropriate, but he knew that you usually would shut him up by agreeing with his request (as long as it was something minor. He tried the technique on sex, but that was one thing you would always say no to).

"Why do you insist on feeling human all the time?" You asked, slamming a wooden spoon on the counter, near him. He took it, knowing it was a silent 'yes, you can help me' from you.

"I don't know, it distracts me from the hunger." Mutsuki shrugged as you simply shivered. He was hungry? God, that was... scary. Really, really scary.

"Hey, pass me more butter, the pan's gonna make the pancake burn!" You loudly said, extending a hand to side.

"Yes captain!" Tooru exclaimed in a silly tone, making you laugh. "Here you go!"

It's crazy how a person (more like demon, in your case) can change once they become comfortable with someone else. Since you let him cook with you, he's been... Amazing, a delight to be with... Almost human-like. And you started treating him like one too, something he seemed to greatly appreciate. His silly but intelligent personality was incredibly endearing to you, but you didn't know if that was him or the fact that he was an incubus that had marked you.

Placing the tray of butter in your hand, you slightly jumped at the skin-to-skin contact, something that didn't go unnoticed by the demon behind you.

"Are you alright? I didn't give you an electric shock, did I?" He worriedly asked, walking your side to inspect your face as you shook your head.

"I'm alright, I guess I'm just on edge is all!" You said, laughing off the odd feeling in your arm at the moment.

Tooru inspected your limb from afar for a while before deciding to go along with your excuse.

"So, uh... You never answered my question." You said, wanting to change the subject. "How come you're so hell bent on 'feeling human'? Is it just the hunger? It can't be." You then turned to make eye contact with him. "I see something in your eyes every time I tell-- or remind you-- that you're inhuman. Look, it's there again. Are you sad about it?" With that, you flipped the pancake on the pan before placing it on another plate and setting the pan away from the open fire, ready to listen to Tooru.
