Evy is starting her first year of college. So far everything great until a new influence comes into her life and changes her whole perspective on the way she grew up and where she belongs in society. WHen this new character disagrees with her choice...

My heart drops. "DEV!", Devins lips slowly form a smirk. "JERK, YOU LITERALLY GAVE ME A HEART ATTACK!" Devin wraps his arms around my waist and leans close to my ear "you love me though." I can't help the grin that spreads across my face "I do". "Your gonna say that to me in a chapel one day", he smirks again and I hit him. We sit on my bed and and he slides a gift wrapped present towards me. I open it and gasp "they're beautiful dev", I pull out the little lock earrings that match the necklace Devin got me for my birthday this year. "What are these for?" Devin looks down, "I missed you so much I bought you these to remind you that you're mine". I blush and Devin smiles. "Classes start in twenty minuets, don't be late babe. Catch you on the flip side." Devin swaggers out of my room and I let out a chuckle. I walk over to my closet, and pull on an adidas tank top and some black sports leggings before grabbing my books and walking to class.
I walk into my English lit class with fifteen minutes to spare, so I pull out my phone and open episode. I'm halfway through the bad boy bachelor island series. I've wasted ten minutes when the girl from the elevator walks in looking slightly lost and nervous. I think back to the awkward elevator encounter, and I cringe. I wave at her anyway and gesture to the empty seat beside me. A wave of relief seems to wash over her as she hurries towards the free seat. "Hi, I'm Penny. I saw you on the elevator in our dormitories earlier." "Oh yeah, I remember you. Your on the fourth floor right? Oh I'm Evy by the way. It's nice to meet you." I flash a wide smile at her and then turn my attention to the professor who is walking into the class.
After class I gather up my books and stand behind my desk waiting for the class to clear out when Evy clears her throat. "Uhh, I was wondering if you wanted to get lunch with me, if not it's fine, I get it, my friend doesn't get here till tomorrow and I wanted to try and make some friends and I don't really know anyone else in this class an-", I cut her off, "I would love to". Evy smiles wide as I take her arm and lead her out of the class.
Later, I sit across from Evy at the restaurant next to the campus. So far I know she doesn't know her dad, she's an only child and she has a best friend named Karissa and a boyfriend named Chadwick. She looks at me with her hazel eyes and there's something about her that makes me want to protect her. She tells me about her social anxiety and how socially awkward she is. I think about how hard it must have been to ask me to hang out and want to scoop her up into a hug even more. Before we go we snap a quick selfie then pack up our books and pay the bill.
