After asking Juanita to tell everyone that she had left early on some unexpected business, Jenny ran out of the house and headed for her red Camaro where it parked next to her father's Mercedes Benz.
She thanked her lucky stars for having given her the foresight to bring her own car. Granted she had done so in case she wanted to run away from any awkwardness that running into Daemon would've caused, but she hadn't needed it for that reason.
Jenny's thoughts were on Glenn, wondering why he had called her out of all the people that he knew and who exactly was Gina.
Yes, Glenn and her were on the student council together, but as far as Jenny knew, they weren't that close that he would call her when something happened.
Yes, she had thought that he was cute every now and then, especially when he stumbled on his words or when he talked about baseball or when he was dismissing flat earth theories.
As she drove down the Matthews long driveway and towards the main road, Jenny couldn't help but wonder exactly who Gina was.
Was she his sister? A pet?
Given how worried he had sounded on the phone, Jenny had narrowed it down to those two guesses.
Just as she was nearing the park that Glenn had mentioned, Jenny's phone rang and the screen in the car read that it was Santana that was calling her.
With a press of a button, Jenny answered the phone. "Hey San."
"Don't 'hey' me," Santana's loud voice echoed in the car. "Where the hell did you disappear off to? Juanita said that something came up."
Jenny rolled her eyes at her friend's overreaction as she chuckled. "Something just came up and I had to leave as soon as possible."
"Exactly," Santana said, "What exactly is that something that suddenly came up?"
Jenny could hear the determination in her best friend's voice and knew that if she wanted to, Santana could make her life hell over this. She was always curious about things and if Jenny didn't want her calling her repeatedly to demand an answer, she might as well tell her the truth.
Jenny sighed as she spotted the park just ahead. "Glenn needed my help with something."
Silence echoed from the other end before she heard a confused Santana say, "What? Student Council President Glenn? Why would Glenn call you? It's a Saturday."
"He just did," Jenny replied.
"Is it for the council? Doesn't he think that what he's doing is a bit too much? It's the weekend for goodness sake. Shouldn't you deal with those stuff-"
"It's personal," Jenny interrupted. She felt bad hearing Santana berate Glenn over something that wasn't the case. Glenn never did what Santana was accusing him of and given the situation, Jenny felt guilty hearing it.
"Personal?" she heard Santana question. "Since when did you and Glenn get personal?" A second passed before Jenny heard Santana gasp from the other end. "Oh my God, why the hell haven't you told me that you and Glenn are a thing?"
Fortunately, Jenny had already parked near the car or she would've stopped it suddenly in her surprise at Santana's words. She hadn't expected Santana to have drawn that conclusion.
Jenny sighed as she thumbed the steering wheel. "We're not a thing, Santana."
Santana laughed with what Jenny could only take as disbelief. "It's too late to lie now, Jenny. Just tell me the truth. You and Glenn are together, aren't you?"
