Jenny sighed as she felt the heat slowly pressing down on her.
The air conditioner had broken down just as class started and locked in a computer lab with thirty other people in a closed space for an hour had left the room feeling like an underground bomb shelter. Hot and suffocating.
Jenny took a deep breath, only to regret it almost instantly because of the stench of sweat, anxiety and body spray that she inhaled.
For the tenth time since class had started, Jenny wondered why they even had D.T classes anymore.
It was a mandatory class that everyone was supposed to take, but with how apt everyone was with technology, you'd think the school would think to offer something else as a mandatory class.
Before Jenny could feel the desire to make up and excuse to escape the class, the bell rang and she almost barreled down the kid sitting in front of her in her rush to escape.
Only once she was outside the lab did she breathe in a new bout of fresh air.
"Jenny!"
She turned in the direction of the voice and smiled as she spotted Darcy making her way towards her, smiling as she carried a mountain of books in her hand.
"Hey Darcy," Jenny called out seconds before the raven haired girl stood before her. "What's up with the books?"
Darcy rolled her eyes exasperatedly before she groaned. "It's for an extra credit paper that I'm supposed to hand in tomorrow. I was planning to do it over the weekend but then Josh came over and..." she shrugged as she let the silence speak for her.
Jenny chuckled, knowing how easily distracted Darcy was when it came to her boyfriend, the guy she'd been crushing on for five years.
"Darcy..."
"I know, I know. But you should see the face he makes when I tell him that I'm busy. He's like the cutest little puppy with his brown eyes going all big and round and..." Darcy trailed off, her eyes lit up and her lips pulled up into the most hilarious smile.
Jenny just shook her head good-naturedly as she chuckled at her friend, letting her continue on for a good while until she stopped.
They reached Jenny's locker and Jenny placed the books she'd been holding before grabbing her another set. "Did you get the budget approved yet?"
Jenny turned around only to see Darcy not paying attention, her attention on whatever commotion was happening behind Jenny. "What are you looking at?" Jenny asked as she turned around, only to sigh as she quickly understood what had Darcy's attention.
A group of guys was on the far end of the hallway, walking down it as it they were on a high fashion runaway.
There were four of them and Jenny mentally rolled her eyes as the song Paradise played in the back of her head just as it did the the Korean drama as F4 entered the room.
Derek, Daemon, Josh and Michael walked down the hallway to the full attention and envy of everyone nearby. Guys high-fiving them and girls blowing them kisses or giggling nervously as they passed them.
Jenny scoffed at the display, trying not to roll her eyes although she had nothing against the other three that accomplished Daemon.
Derek was a friendly guy, a people person and was always in the middle of a crowd, making a joke.
