I spent the night with the team, who I actually got along perfectly fine with, although all we did that night was sit around and watch a baking show as M'gann made cookies. I was informed that the work would start tomorrow, and I would be taken through all the information I needed to be on this team.

Despite myself, I was excited.

I got along with Artemis the most, and we spent the whole evening talking about what it was like to be on the team and her past and my past (both were way too brief). We talked about how stupid Wally was and how weird it was for Robin to be so unfriendly, a fact that I assured her was on me. I told her that Bird Boy and I had 'a complicated past together' and left it at that.

When it was time for me to leave, I had already oh so subtly asked Artemis about how and where the zeta tubes worked so I knew where I could go in the city and how to activate them, just in case I had to use plan B.

When Batman appeared in the doorway, Robin stood up faster than I could blink. I groaned, not wanting to go back to my pathetic little room.

"I'll see you guys tomorrow."

Wally was suddenly beside me, his arm slung across my shoulders.

"You sure will, darli—"

I grabbed his arm and pinned it behind his back.

"Woah! Okay okay."

I let go and nodded to the amused others, following Robin out of the hallway.

The ride back was full of me insulting Robin for being so gullible, Robin complaining about how I ripped his cape, and Batman scolding me for being immature.

"Relax Batsy." I crossed my arms, "It's just a little fun and games."

"Someone could've gotten hurt."

"Lighten up a bit, Old Man."

I sat back in my seat, next to an angry Robin who was shooting me daggers as I placed my feet on the seat in front of me.

"Give it time, Robin." Batman and the boy seemed to have had a conversation that I had missed. It was irritating, but the prank was worth it. Anything for the ridiculous look on Robin's face as he fell, or the one he gave me when he was angry.

When Batman parked the car in the Batcave, I jumped out swiftly and stretched, cracking my back.

"How was it?" I started at the sound of Alfred's voice, and turned to him with a bright smile.

"It was great." He smiled too, "Robin's such a klutz, though. He tripped over his own cape."

"You put oil on the floor." Robin growled as he walked around the vehicle to stand a foot away from me.

"I did no such thing!" I placed a hand over my heart as if shocked that such an accusation could be lain on me, pulling out the mentioned bottle of oil, handing it to Alfred, and grinning when Robin walked past me in annoyance.

We all walked up the staircase, me chatting away at how clumsy Bird Boy was, talking especially loud so the boy himself could hear. Eventually Batman placed a hand on my shoulder and gave me a look, to which I moved the conversation on to other things.

As we strode into the entrance hall, Robin swiftly stomped upstairs and disappeared into what I could only assume was a bathroom or a computer room of sorts. Although I had been in every room of the manor and I was pretty sure the computer room was to the right, not the left. The bedrooms were to the left.

I must've gotten mixed up . . . surely.

I ignored him as Bruce pulled off his mask and ran a hand down his tired face. I didn't know how to bring the desired conversation up, so I leaned against the staircase and attempted to act casual.
