The cacophonous sound of the bell rang through the pupils ears. Everyone rushed into there lines on the grey, stony playground. It was the first day of the last term of the year, everyone in Year 7 was loud and rowdy as they waited for their instructions to go inside the school. The teacher stood at the front of the line waiting for silence to talk to the class. After 5 minutes the class quietened.
"As you all know, you only have 13 weeks left at Manetop Combined School, so lets make these weeks full of good memories and no arguments. We will agree on your leavers trip in a couple of weeks so don't ask me about it or you wont be going! Now come on lets go inside."
Everyone followed up to the classroom where they put their bags on pegs and stumbled into the classroom. Everyone sat down and slowly started to do the morning challenge while chatting amongst themselves.
"Lee, go and collect everyone's phones and put them in the basket!" Mr Clawson ordered as he walked casually over to the computer to start calling out the register.
"Okay everyone's here, Lee could you take the phone basket to the office now." Mr Clawson said after finishing the register.
"Lee I'll take that to the office for you, I'm on my way down there now" Ms Roaderach said as she elegantly walked into the classroom "Goodmorning Year 7s I hope that you enjoy you last term here as much as I will, I am leaving at the end of the year aswell. But for now you will still be doing lessons and behaving spectactuarly! I don't want to have to be speaking to any of you about your behaviour..."
She was inturupted by a loud beeping sound. She rummaged through the basket to find the beeping was coming from a white, rectangular phone, "Who's is that?" Mr Clawson asked the whole class. Everyone turned and looked at Bob as all color was drained from his face. "Is this yours Bob? Your phones meant to be turned off, you know that!"
"It was the noise it does when it turns itself off, its usually out of the class by now." Bob replied.
Mr Clawson and Ms Roaderach just nodded and turned away from the class to chat. They were stood there in conversation before Ms Roaderach walked out the purple-painted door and shut it carefully behind her.
"Well good morning class, we're going to start off with some literacy, everyone stand up behind your chairs and face the back!" Mr Clawson took his black jacket off and ran to the back of the class. "New term, New talk for writing! This term we will be learning a section from our new class book, Holes by Louis Sacher. Has anyone read it or seen the film?"
One or two people awkwardly put their hands in the air. "Lovely let's start learning this text!"
For the next 20 minutes the class contributed their ideas for actions to go with the text until it was all finally decided.
"Okay then, everyone get into partners and we'll see who has actually been listening! You have 5 minutes to practice!"
Most of the pupils that were chosen to show to the class failed which showed they had not listened and were embarrassed by the frustrated teacher. "What's the time?" He asked to the class.
"20 minutes past 10" someone randomly called out.
"Okay everyone get ready for maths. You two go hand out the books!" He said as he pointed to two random people...
